Re: Local 1794, 1794 Danforth
I've been 3 times to this place an am loving it. Outstanding calamari, very tasty pizzas. The food offerings are quite solid here. You can read about it on Yelp. Since this is a beer board, I'll speak more to that. This place gets a solid B- for craft beer. They have a lot of taps and a proper cask ...

Re: 3 minutes to midnight
Keep in mind this is a 4 bottle limit and the past few 2K releases have been 8 bottle limits. Though it wouldn't surprise me if it sold out today, that's just a lot more people that previous releases on a friday. I think the difference is that not everyone bought their full 8 bottle limit…although ...

Well, 10 days and no one's actually heard back from this guy, huh? Last I checked, Heady does not benefit from aging.
Beginning to wonder if this is legit.

Re: 3 minutes to midnight
Not many people today…got there around 15 minutes early and only 3 people ahead of me. Maybe the rain scared people off. I'd say there's a good chance there might be some left after 5 PM. Don't know if I'd hold my breath for Saturday though. Maybe anyone who goes later in the day can post an update.

Re: New Craft Brewery Survey
Ummm…not so sure about the price question. Your choices are basically: I buy high priced stuff because high priced stuff is great. I buy low priced stuff because low prices are always good value. Price doesn't matter. How about, "I'm sensitive to price, but I'm willing to spend more money on a ...

Re: Bellwoods Justu 2.0
I quite enjoyed the Jutsu 2.0 on its own. However, I recently tried it after trying the latest batch of Roman Candle. It's pretty shocking how much less interesting and complex it is than the Roman Candle. Definitely the wrong order to drink these in.

Re: 3 minutes to midnight
wow that's a small release. i probably won't make it there till 6 or so. wonder what my chances are of snagging a couple bottles. I would say the Friday releases go much more slowly than the Saturday ones IME. If everyone buys their full quota, that's 250 people. The last Friday release, I went a f...

Re: Summerhill Growler/Craft Beer Destination Store
I really think most of the Mikkeller stock would have sat around forever regardless of what the LCBO did. Texas Ranger and Monk's Brew were the only beers worth paying for in that release (you might be able to argue the Black, too, but I wouldn't), and they were still, by most people's accounts, ov...

Sounds like this will be interesting...I wonder what the point of diminishing returns with barrel-aging is? Does a beer start to get worse at some point?skootles wrote:Aaaand we have a winner!jeremyg wrote: my money's on No Rest For The Wicked

Re: Canadian Brewing Awards 2015
- Many breweries were shutout of the awards. Of the biggest shutouts were Mill Street (0 for 26), Nickel Brook (0 for 19) and Fernie (0 for 15). Big Rock, Bomber, Bridge, Granville, Picaroons, Pump House, Rebellion and Unibroue all had over 10 entries and 0 wins. - In terms of low hit rate, Beau's ...

I think I sent a PM…can't tell if it's stuck or not.
Some style indication for what you want would be helpful. You've got to get through all that Heady in a couple weeks anyway

Re: People's Pint - May 29th
I thought it was a great event by and large. I mean it's hard to top the roof deck in beautiful sunshine of the last Brauhaus event, but I think the beer quality was higher this time. My two favourites were the Azaroth Double IPA and the Saison du Printemps Brett Saison. After that, the Mangose Gose...
