Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO
Yeah, I love much of what Rogue does, but their crazy flavors just don't do it for me. It's the kind of thing that I'd love a 2-3 oz taste of...but definitely not a bottle.

Re: Sours, Brett, Wild, and Saisons
It was actually a few trips to Copenhagen and trips to Mikkeller bars that really got me into sours. Mikkeller is fascinating...his beers for me are by and large home runs or total strikeouts...it's rare that I'm ambivalent about his beers. The only big sour events that happened in Ontario this pas...

Re: People's Pint - May 29th
Can't see a ticket price, aside from the membership fee. Any idea how much that is? Anyone from BT brewing? Or attending? The membership fee is the ticket price. I think that's basically how they get around whatever weird Ontario laws surely make it difficult to sell homebrew. If it's anything like...

Re: Sours, Brett, Wild, and Saisons
It's too bad the market here for this stuff is so small. Bellwoods is of course the leader in Ontario for this. Amsterdam's one-off's can be truly outstanding; however, the beer that ends up on tap, even in their own brewpub, tends to get dumbed down like Belgian mentioned. There are some great thin...

new PRINCESS WEARS GIRL PANTS LCBO 419762 | 473 mL can Price: $ 5.25 I wonder if that's a new highest price point for a tall boy can at the LCBO. I also wonder what this will taste like. I had two rather different versions of it on tap in the last year and change. One was meh and the most recent on...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Is it me, or is SN PA not worth the bother? I've had it numerous times in the US and never come away impressed. Maybe 5-10 years ago it would have been something, but now with GLB, muskoka and others pushing the IPA limit, it always struck me as a pedestrian beer...? I'm normally the first to defen...

Re: Toronto Festival of Beer 2015 - July 24-26
I went to the spring version of this festival with comp tickets. I would have been so upset had I paid for the tickets. The brewery line-up was terrible. The good breweries didn't bring anything interesting (thanks GLB for Crazy Canuck). The breweries I was less familiar with didn't have anything th...

Is there anywhere online to find the SINGLE BOTTLE CODES? An interesting question would be how often the LCBO finds something that's actually contaminated. To my knowledge, no state in the US puts this level of testing into things, and yet you never hear of any wine or beer poisonings there. I'm sure this process is pretty expensive in terms of equipment a...

I don't think they were actually saving anything for the non-ticketed event. that's the reason they were giving at the time. if it's anything but this (ie: saving it for a chosen few instead of non-ticketed), then it's a far more questionable call. I can attempt to see noble intentions if they were...

I loved the event overall. Really great Cantillon beers on tap and in the bottle. Some weird sort of hoarding mentality hit the crowd and people would get right back in line after getting their beers. Shows how starved people here are for good beer. I personally decided to go enjoy the beers calmly ...

Not to mention the broader costs that have to be made up through ticket prices. Event rental, equipment rentals, mandatory security (this is big), etc. Nobody's raking in cash through this event. Ren I would be happy to stand corrected. I've only been in the Toronto beer scene a couple years, and t...
