Eastbound Brewing Co. - Queen & Broadview

In my neck of the woods. http://www.blogto.com/eat_drink/2016/10/toronto_to_get_a_new_80_seat_brewpub/ Toronto is about to boast a sprawling new brewpub, complete with a full kitchen and retail shop. Eastbound Brewing Co. will open smack dab in the heart of resurgent Riverside in a 3,500 square foot...

Re: Trafalgar being bought

That being said, I do have fond memories of Trafalgar of years and years ago. Their "Abbey Belgian" ale at C'est What was one of the first strong, dark beers I think I ever had on tap. At the time I certainly liked it. I remember the Trafalgar Abbey at C'est What quite well - it was one o...

Re: The Brewery Market

It was a really enjoyable day at Brick Works today. The Brewery Market was just one of many events going on there today; I wonder how sales were compared to usual? It didn't really feel like drinking in Ontario, as the licensed area wasn't segregated away from the fun family area. There was a live N...

Hey Cass. Any more details regarding the "increased family programming" for this event? Beer sampling for the kiddies, perhaps?

Wife had a pint at Louis Cifer last night. I thought it was really good for a sub-5% beer. Great hop flavour.

It's open! We visited tonight. The place looks great. A decent selection of Ontario craft brewers and around 4 of their own. Around 20 in total, I think. We tried their IPA and Liaison, which was described as a cross between a saison and IPA. I found these to be less hop-forward than I prefer, but t...

Agreed. I remember once C'est What held a cask vs. draft vs. bottle/can side-by-side blind tasting of a number of beers. I recall that my preferences on the night ended up being in favour of the draft offerings compared to cask. I feel that "cask" has become synonymous with "we're ser...

Good article. I'm officially excited. We really need something like this on the Danforth.

(EDIT: Specifically I mean on the Danforth where I can walk to...)

Personally, I couldn't care less as to where the beer is actually brewed. I just want a better beer bar in Greektown.

It makes more sense to me to do all that space-consuming brewing on cheaper land than at a high-rent retail space.
