I don't recall if this beer is bottle conditioned or not. If it is not bottle conditioned then it is likely infected. Either way if you have any left chill them down really cold before opening, that will greatly reduce how much gas is released when it is opened.

If your going this route make sure you have a 20amp outlet and that nothing else is running on the line when your burner is on. Max wattage on a 20amp outlet is 1920w and a standard 15amp outlet is 1440w.

My fiancée Ah...those are the key words.... Seriously, though, atomeyes makes a good point. I think what works for me (and my wife) is keeping the brewing stuff really simple and small batches so the bottles don't take up too much space. And frankly - I have too many full bottles of stuff tha...

I emailed Canadian Homebrew Supplies about this last week. He is in the process of stocking it. Certainly sounds interesting, even to have on hand for stuck fermenations.

Thanks guys, much appreciated. I as I have a couple 24s of Grolsch swingtops but was looking for that something extra to give the homebrew a more distinctive look... I think Northern Brewer or Randy at homebrew suppies could fill the order but the markup can get you... Oh well! I will look into it ...

Another kettle option is a turkey fryer with a straining basket, you can get one on amazon.ca or home hardware. Then you can use the basket for brew-in-a-bag and just the pot itself for boiling. Here is a video of the process:

I put the hydrometer sample back in, just sterilize the jar and meter first. Hydrometer's are pretty important in that they tell you when it is safe to bottle. Ie if you bottle before fermentation is compete you'll have bottle bombs. I use bleach to sterilize the brewing equipment and starsan to ste...

If you are starting with 1g batches I'd just get a 1g jug at the grocery store and add a hydrometer to your beer ingredient order. For 5g batches I'd suggest just making your own kit and picking it up at the store. You'll need: 6.5 gallon bucket, lid, autolock and bung 5 gallon glass carboy (Better ...

Ebay would be the easiest. There also is beerables.net and truebeer.com which don't seem to stock them at the moment. Any route would be expensive, hopefully the duvel gift pack will be back next year.
