Brick just sold off their Waterloo location and are setting up to brew only out of Kitchener (by next year). Good bet, that's who's brewing it.

Bars can sell in whatever volumes they like as far as I'm concerned, but I would like to make it mandatory that volumes are listed and glassware is marked. Customers can also use whatever sloppy language they like, but bars should only use the word "pint" if they have glasses that get abou...

thebeergauge I'd love to see German style 0.3 and 0.5 l markings... then who cares ...we're all looking at the same mark. I agree with markings on the glass being one of the best options. From that beer gauge site, I'd say most "pints" I get are only in the 12-13 oz range, but I'm not sur...

I hear it's being brewed with California Condor eggs in the mash. They're doing the freeze fractionation by chilling the beer only with the frozen tears of orphans.

I was a fan of the Stuart's Natural Session when it was around and I really wish the Mill Race Mild (I think it's now called Mill Race Brown) would be accepted by the LCBO. IIRC someone from Grand River said they've submitted it and been rejected several times by the LCBO. I've been buying the Musko...

while i'm very happy for Left Field, i can just imagine the Beer Store big-wigs sitting in their office with a smug-ass smile on their faces. Yup, good move (from their perspective), they get to avoid another controversy that would have people talking about deregulation AND they appear to be swoopi...

Nickel Brook and Collective arts own the brewing equipment and are shipping it in from the East coast. I can't imagine their lease agreement stipulates they have to leave it there. Pipes and stuff, maybe. No, I just meant pipes, electrical etc. From the descriptions in news articles, it seemed to m...

Glad to see the building will again be used for brewing. I would hope the new agreement includes a stipulation that if the brewery is sold the new owners can't tear out it's infrastructure to salt the earth again.

Thanks for the update, I didn't know about Beer Lab. Good for them.

I saw a bit more of the sign today, it said "Coming Soon: Olive R" and then another word, which I assume is "Twist". No reason to think they'll serve craft, but who knows?

Upfront at the Market - Closed?

I can't find any info online but the much reviled (on this forum anyways) Upfront at the Market which took over Gambrinus seems to have closed at the Covent Garden Market here in London. I've noticed renos underway as I've driven by the past couple weeks, and it seemed to me today that there was new...

Yes, please. The only thing I've found exceptional about Rogue so far is their prices.

Do we know for sure -- like, 100% -- that BCBS will be coming to LCBO shelves? And if so, will it be before Christmas? Not 100% so I would hold off writing about it now if I were you Ok, thanks. That's all I needed to know. In fact, if it does come, don't tell anyone until we all have posted that w...

Re: GODZIRRA!!!!

[Trafalgar Hop Nouveau] In previous years this has been golden/harvest colour with a slight haziness due to being unfiltered. Two years ago it was infected but last year and three years ago it had fresh hop noses and flavours with a detectable malt backbone. This year it has the colour and clarity ...

All 4 bottles I've had (3 purchases) have been fine. On Tuesday I had the Black Creek right before the Highballer, and though I really like Highballer, the Black Creek was the better of the two I think.
