I am in the planning stages of a weekend trip for January and have been trying to include some beer stuff with some fun activities for myself and my gf. The frontrunner so far is Kingston with a visit to the Kingston brewpub and probably a night at one of the local inns. I had been looking at possib...

Stopped in for a drink this afternoon - Could not believe how cheap the beer is! I got a Delerium Tremens for $6.25, which is usually around $10 most places I have seen it. Very nice place. Will be back.

Walked by it last night. Looks like an interesting place. A bit smaller than I had invisioned it but nice. The menu is fairly reasonably priced as well.

Cheers Greg for your response, I agree whole heartedly. I think that your stated reasons for questioning the meat industry are extremely valid. The Bow & Arrow for example makes a point of using local ingredients and noting this on their menu. PS - There was a great BBQ Rabbit in Blanche de Cham...

This seems a tad overblown. What it really comes down to is if you care that much, ask your server what you will be getting.

The event was announced as running from 5 PM to 10 PM. I think that's the case every year, actually.
Guess I'm just slow then  hehe.

I thought it was odd that they stopped taking tickets at around 10. I don't think they really broadcast the fact that they were going to do that.
I was also disappointed by the non-appearance of the new room. It looks like it will be very cool, and will likely lead to me being there a bit more often.

In general, I have found that ratebeer and beer advocate ratings present overall weak evaluations of light, delicate beers such as witbier, helles, dortmunder, vienna and a variety of pils. The ratings on those sites are more suitable predictors of big, or extravagant beers (high gravity, high alco...

I was reading Michael Moores book "Stupid White Men" a while back. In the states, damn near everyone in their cabinet (?) or a position of importance had a conflict of interest where they had strong ties in the industry, and in many cases still had stock in companies the were overseeing.

Privatization would more than likely lead to crappier selection in most areas other than the GTA. Also, the fact that The Beer Store does a good job of storing beer (ie. cold storage) is often overlooked. That said, having at least *one* store in downtown Toronto that could sell whatever it felt lik...
