Re: Getting beer back from Belgium?

If you're going to declare it, why not just check a box of beer?

Re: Spearhead Brewing Company

Stopped in today at lunch for their grand opening. They've spent a good amount of money on transforming the industrial building into their bottle shop and tasting bar area which has a large glass wall for viewing of the brewery. It's nice but sorta dark. Don't think there's a kitchen. They have a ne...

I'm not a huge fan of this one. Blacklist is far better.

Re: Signal Brewing Co., Belleville

I didn't eat just stoppef for a brief tour and the bottle shop, but from what I've heard and reviews the food is decent, but the service might be a spotty.

Signal Brewing Co., Belleville

Pretty awesome brewery/restaurant, especially with their patio in summer. A heritage industrial building on the river. Their beers are average to good on the Ontario craft scale, but if you're looking for a place to stop on the 401, it's pretty close to the highway 4mins? and the menu looked quite n...

Complicated, a sour Belgian ale with cherries. Pretty darn good, if you come across it.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

The Muskoka salted caramel thing is meh. Watery, thin porter base (i.e. no body). Finishes with a chocolate caramel aftertaste. Not awful, but not worth $3.65 a can. Too many novelty beers coming from this once solid brewery. Just finished reviewing this one; my opinions were pretty much in line wi...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Drinking one now, orange and lemon zest with bitter finish. It's drinking nicely, but wouldn't go out and buy too many. Also they are packaged in 4 packs, so you may get lucky and get 4 for 1 with a clueless lcbo cashier....

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Collective Arts IPA No 5, which I didn't realize until I got home is actually a DIPA. Anyway, beautiful, hazy golden yellow, a great looking beer. Wonderful nose and the unmistakable presence of citra, which I believe is my favorite hop. I am really growing to love this brewery. My only complaint, ...
