I'm looking into the veggie alternative, although I'm sure Brian will come up with something. I or Kid P. will post when a decision is made.

Got Crusty? And Winter Beer Fest Info

This is just to let everyone know that the vintage Old Crustaceans are now available for sale at beerbistro. We've got 1997, 1999 and 2000, maybe more once we sort through all of the cases. Also, here are some details about our Winter Beer Festival on November 13, beginning at 4:00PM. Tickets, which...

FWIW, here's the press release for the porter. Although I have yet to taste the beer, comments made thus far incline me to believe it is fashioned in the traditional British style, as suggested by the press release, rather than the more modern robust style. As such, some astringency and a slight &qu...

We should have new draught Maudite in time for the Winter Beer Festival on November 13, which we will pour alongside an aged version from last year.

Fall at beerbistro

Hi bartowellers. Here's an update on some approaching events at beerbistro, in case some of you want to mark your calendars now. - First a reminder that for the rest of October, you can fill out a ballot in-house for a chance to win our Oktoberfest prize pack, and that we still have Oktoberfest beer...

Kevin, just so you know, beerbistro doesn't open until 4:00 on Saturday afternoons. Hate for you to have to hang around the door waiting for it to be unlocked...

We have the same steins as Ralph does at Volo, but we also have a ceramic commemorative Oktoberfest 2004 stein from Rastal that we're giving away as part of our (somewhat delayed) prize pack draw which begins today. Come down and fill out a ballot -- you never know!

Sorry to say that I'll miss this again this year. Bad timing is to blame once more, as it coincides with the GABF in Denver.

Please give my regards to George, Brenda, Christopher and everyone else at C'est What.

Apologies for not rtesponding earlier., but I was on the road for a bit. I strongly suspect that the Oktoberfest from Hacker will be the 'tent beer' they brew for the Munich event, rather than a true marzen. Either way, though, at least it's something different.

Details follow, and please forgive the press release format; it was just the easiest way to post it: beerbistro is proud to present our 1st annual OKTOBERFEST CELEBRATION! Please join us for ...

FYI, all, I just received my copy of the new LCBO circular and, in the listing of the Autumn Ales promotion, the Rodenbach is highlighted with the following note: "Release of this product is delayed until further notice." What it all means I do not know, but let's hope that another Cantill...

Just to clarify Nick's post, I wouldn't presume to state definitively that Greene King brewed a special IPA for the competition, just that to my taste, the pint that I had in a central London pub and the half that I enjoyed at the GBBF bore less than a perfect ressemblance to one another. Couple wit...

Thanks for the compliment, Chris. But I've got to say that your timing sucks, since I'll be leaving town the very day you arrive. Wish I could meet you for a beer, but I do hope that you make it to beebristro anyways. I'm sure that you'll enjoy yourself. BTW, the 'Meet the Brewer' tasting on Wednesd...
