Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

Immotius, no offense taken...perhaps I'm a bit too passionate in my postings but I really do like this beer and many others agree with me. At last year's U.S. Beer Tasting Championships it went up against some of the best Porters in the U.S. and was not only selected as Northeast Champion Porter but...

Immotius, with all due respect, you may be a lover of stouts and porters but your appreciation for the styles is apparently based upon some narrow knowledge and experience you have had with some specific styles. How anyone can call Robust Porter "mediocre" is beyond me. This product is an e...

Prices vary because of exchange rates and freight rates and are calculated on every order. As the supplier quotes in U.S. dollars, every order will have a different Canadian cost. Also, freight rates will always vary depending upon how many cases fit on a truck and what time of year the order is shi...

Hey Cyrill, what does any of this have to do with a review of Smuttynose Robust Porter? It would seem more appropriate for you to start your own topic, whatever that might be, and then I can choose not to look at it. When I go into Beer Reviews and see Smuttynose Robust Porter I expect to see review...

I think you mean "unpalatable" as in "palate" as opposed to "palette" which painters use!

Shortly after they re-opened the National Post restaurant critic did a scathing review of the place...one of the worst restaurant reviews I have ever read. Having dined there many times I was quite surprised. This past Saturday's Globe review was absolutely full of praise for the authentic Belgian c...

I'm heading down to New York in a couple of weeks...haven't been in a few years. I'm a child of the 60's and have had a lifelong passion for the music of the Animals and Eric Burdon and the New Animals are appearing at BB King's club. Will be staying in Manhattan in the Theatre District and would ap...

Although I really appreciate the fact that this forum exists, let's not get too excited. 10 members have posted almost 84% of all postings on the forum so using the word "many" to describe the number of good beer drinkers in Toronto is a bit of a stretch as that means that about 2,999,990 ...

Once you get past the unpronounceable Gaelic name, those of you in the east end of the city should try this spot (2112 Danforth Ave. 416-421-3375). One of the former partners of Castro's in the Beaches opened this place several months ago and they've got a few taps (Hacker Pschorr included) and a gr...

Last year's Ottawa festival was excellent for a first year festival. Many of the same exhibitors as Toronto but fewer although Saturday was a heck of lot more enjoyable than the zoo at Fort York. Good location too in the heart of downtown Ottawa...walking distance to the Market.

I happened to visit a Quebec-based French language chat forum and there were a number of postings confirming that Festibiere is a no go for his year but that it might be back next year. The organizers have always been in a very tenuous financial position so if last year wasn't a resounding financial...

I've eaten there twice since it opened. In a word...fantastic! Great French bistro food at very fair prices and a fabulous selection of bottled Belgian beers including a number you can't buy at the LCBO. Also carry the only French beer available in Ontario from a great little micro named La Choulett...
