Wellington Arkell
I'm wondering if anybody has noticed a difference in the Arkell lately? About 6 months ago I noticed a drop-off in the usual refreshing slight hop presence, and a turn toward bland. I'm talking specifically about the cask version. Last week I tried a pint at C'est What right after the cask had been ...

The IPA's are here - in Parkdale at least. I was at The Rhino last night and the waitress trotted out a new beer menu that contained (among other goodies) 3 Southern Tier products. So I jumped on it and ordered 2 IPA's (just being considerate and saving her a trip!) which I've never had before. Awes...

I'm just polishing one off now after scooping the last 4 on the shelf at Brock St. in Parkdale (sorry Greg!) and introducing it to my brother. But besides the Engine Oil, my God what a piss-poor beer selection. Tons of Euro-lagers, and nothing but a few micro selections. I really hope they take note...

I can see your point from a business perspective, however, if I see all 3 in a store, I'm buying all 3. 2 out of 3, 1 out of 3, doesn't matter. Sure, I'm only one person, but I buy a lot of beer and so do my friends. And realistically, how likely is it that all 3 will be on the shelves at any given ...

CABA
I went to the CABA shindig upstairs at The Rhino last night. Nice affair, some excellent homebrews. There seemed to be an emphasis on Porters, including an intriguing Black Pepper Porter. The speaker was Marvin Dyck from Wellington. The real news to me of the evening was the flat-out admission that ...

cooper st.
This may be old news already but I was at Cooper St. today and the Old Engine was there (maybe 15 bottles on display), as well as the whole Neustadt lineup, and nicely chilled too. I depleted the Scottish Pale Ale supply.
