Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Re: Halo Brewery

I live in the neighbourhood and went on their opening day a couple weeks ago. Personally I think Halo is the best new brewery in Toronto I've tried since Left Field opened, and before that Bellwoods.

I'm looking forward to this IIPA tomorrow, I hope it delivers!

Well we know our Eataly won't be full of Dogfish Head beers for starters.

Re: Ontario Brewing Awards 2016

Some interesting results, I would like to see the list of also rans, just to gauge who they were up against. I'm also surprised the don't run a fall awards for those under represented seasonal styles. These awards don't mean anything. Look at the number of bronzes that weren't awarded. Nobody submi...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Immodest is showing stock at some LCBOs, mostly in Toronto. I just grabbed six at the King & Spadina location. Canned March 17.

$5 is a great price for a DIPA in a tall can. That's what Great Lakes was charging for Robohop and Life Sentence at their bottle shop. I don't mind the price anyway.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Haven't heard about this one until I stumbled across it on the lcbo site. Looks like it's not in distribution quite yet. http://www.lcbo.com/lcbo/product/rogue-7-hop-ipa/405860#.VusgDnrHa9U I believe this came and went last year. I remember seeing it on room temperature LCBO shelves last year with ...

Prospect Galaxy, a single hop IPA is in the retail shop. I enjoyed Prospect Citra last year, so I'm sure this one will be good too.

Two new beers in their bottle shop... Anniversary No.3 Saison w. Nelson Sauvin / 7.6% ABV / 45 IBU Just had at lunchtime at brewery. Nicely done with the NS hop. Did you stop by pilot? The Anthem blend is fantastic as espresso. Pilot is roasting some of the best coffee in the city and their cafes (...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

About Bellwoods pricing, I think their special releases such as 3M2M, Skeleton Key etc are a steal. Something of that quality from the States would be so much more. But their everyday beer such as Jutsu and Wizard Wolf are too expensive to buy in large quantity (which is what I would want). Imagine...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Grabbed some Aphrodite today. Yeah, not thrilled about the date. But I've always loved it. Keeping my receipt should I find it too unpleasant. But I REALLLLLLLY love it when an LCBO employee makes comments about the price of beer compared to what it was like in their day. Oh yeah, such an impressed...
