Re: Yesterday's Game

You can point to any number of reasons for France's pathetic performance against the Italians yesterday: the early loss of Ribery; the ill-advised tackle of Toni by Abidal, which earned both a red card and a penalty kick; the mind-boggling coaching of Domenech... But I think it was all the LCBO's f...

Coopers Sparkling Ale

Just got around to trying this. I'm not sure what I think about it - not much in the way of aroma. A nice thick, sparkly (they got the name right) mouthfeel, but the flavour seems slightly lacking - the malt isn't particularly tasty, and the hops seem a touch bland.

Does Durham have plans to expand their offerings through the LCBO/TBS? I've just recently had their Signature Ale for the first time, and it's pretty damn good. I'd like to be able to sample some more Durham brews without having to plan an excursion to Toronto.

"Agree completely. I'm not sure why I've never tried this one before. I'm sad to admit that I killed the whole sixer, it was damn good. :lol" Thanks for the heads up. I've passed by that one many times, yet never tried it. I drink my share of Hop Addict, so I'll try the Signature too. It'...

That's a fantastic choice! One of the better beers available at the beer store in my opinion.

I'd vote against it Illuminatus. I've never heard of anyone successfully aging a pilsner, and the standout hop flavour is what makes this one so nice, I think that would only deminish. That's what I was thinking. But on the other hand, it's stronger than average, and has a fair bit of sediment in t...

I picked up the Red Baron and both Brickman's in cans at the Brick Beer Store Saturday. I've also heard that the Georgian Bay Dipper can is out in Parry Sound. According to my contact, the can reads "Brewed for Midland Beer Works by Hockley Valley Brewing Co. Orangeville, ON." Anybody kno...

Great Lakes did a Spruce and Sage Winter Wit. Never got to try it, wish I had. As for actually brewing with it, no clue, but the brewmaster at Great Lakes might have some tips.

Has anyone tried aging the Christoffel? I'm curious as to how long it'd last if I were to throw a few away for a rainy day.

Where exactly would this person be going to buy this stuff? No Depanneur is going to have enough cases in stock to fill such an order. For example, Marché Jovi would probably have 2 to 4 cases of Peché Mortel in stock and even that's a maybe. I'm willing to bet that if someone called ahead, they'd ...
