Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Guess I was wrong and it must be a best before October 2016, which seems odd. Anyway, still think it's nice to have some options showing up at the LCBO even if there are other local beers that might be better.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Mine say 1011, and I would suggest followed by 2015 (not 2016), followed by 2 - so 10112015 2. That 5 can also be a 6 but looking at it closely I think it's a 5. Given LCBO and their seemingly standard introduction of many IPAs to shelves that are already 3 months old, I am going to guess that this ...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

So I take it only the regular Arrogant Bastard is the one with the short shelf life and the others have some time. Think the two without dates can be cellared for a while (at least that's my impression??).

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

There were about 15 boxes left at Summerhill at around noon, as far as I could tell There were 12 at Laird. by the time i was cashing out at 1 pm, they were all gone. Best before date is Jan 6 2016. LOL at the LCBO. Ya. The cashier actually pointed to that an...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I don't even know what to say about LCBO. I'd be pissed if I was Stone and the importer. There is no excuse to have this beer sitting in their warehouse for two months. Seems a bit strange that when the beer hits shelves with three weeks left to "enjoy by" that we're now getting an extra 3...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I have had SNPA several times in the States (or have brought back home) and once recently on tap here and wouldn't mind getting some to revisit it. I see that it's showing stock in all sorts of places, so I called the downtown Kingston store to ask if they had any given that stock wasn't showing. Ba...

Given this is a coffee stout, what are your thoughts on aging it? Do people prefer it fresh or aged. Not that fresh is an option in this case as it's already six months old. Would have been nice to try fresh. Confused why this is showing up now six months after being bottled.... Anyway, just wonder...

I am inclined to say it won't be spoiled, it can age quite pleasantly. Look for 'barreling quad aroma...'
Agreed. Just wondering how 2013 bottles (assuming I'm interpreting it correctly) end up on the shelf now.

To add... I also bought another bottle two days ago when I was grabbing some stuff at a different store. Both bottles have the same code I believe. Likely it's not a return but LCBO's stock. I recall seeing a lot of Fuller's Vintage 2013 mixed in with the 2014 when it came out and wondered if the 20...

La Trappe Date Code

Got a couple bottles of La Trappe Quad a while ago with the code K25I14 (I think), which based on what I found online I think is bottled in September 2014. Got another bottle today with the code K06H13, which I think is August 2013. Am I interpreting these codes correctly, and if so, can I assume th...

Does Peche Mortel get pretty reasonable distribution, at least to those stores that typically get most things. I am in Kingston and between all stores we tend to get the majority of releases. Just wondering if I should ask my store to bring some in.

Had my first one of these last night. I actually thought too that it made me think more of a black IPA. I didn't feel like I was drinking an imperial stout so much. I think with this one I'll enjoy it more with some age it. Have a few I'll let go for a while.
