Tapsucker: Globe and Mail, December 13, 2008, "The beer essentials for lighter brews: strong body, lots of taste" Unfortunately, it's no longer available online for free... %$#@$* I stand corrected, now I remember that article. I guess I've had a few too many robust brews or I'm just gett...

Between the article and the reader comments, there is some good discussion on these stronger styles. However, I have always felt it's too easy to make a strong beer. What I mean by that is, it's a lot harder to develop a full rich flavour profile without the higher alcohol content being a factor. I ...

I bet the stubbies also don't need ot be sorted for each vendor. Everytime I'm at the BS and the line is backed up while they sort bottles I remind them of the opportunity to go back to all stubbies! I guess they might have to come up with green or clear stubbies for the 'brand before taste' vendors...

Now if beer were the ONLY way to heat your house, I bet that would spur some real conservation!

What about keeping the house and the beer cold?

I recently overheard this:

Q. What's the difference between beer and women?

A. Beer doesn't complain when you reach for another one.

If the current financial mess exposes one thing clearly it's that big public companies are more addicted to growth and market share than actually being solid investments for their shareholders. Every day we see different industry's conglomerates laying off tens of thousands and scrambling to survive...

I just came back from London through Heathrow Terminal 5. There's a Wetherspoon's pub there. Enjoyed a couple of pints of cask Deuchars IPA ... at £2.59 a pint! At $1.95 Canadian for a pound, that's just pennies over $5.00 a pint. They also had Marston's Pedigree and a house cask for the same price...

I don't know what the capacity at the Publican is, maybe they are just struggling to brew enough? The Granite has been running out of growlers quite regularly in the last little while. I know they have fixed capacity and the restaurant needs to be kept stocked first, since they don't sell anybody el...

Yeah, it gets nice and quiet with the snow too!

I think those people that escape south are just one dimensional. I guess those are the same people who like to avoid flavour in their beer! Living life is experiencing all the variations of nature and appreciating them.

Ontario should be the ultimate place to drink local, in which case anywhere in the province should be great to live. Unfortunately, we treat our industry poorly. Distribution of our quality breweries sucks and too many beer lovers focus on hopping the borders for imports. Don't get me wrong, I love ...
