If its going to be held in September its great news for me. I'm going to be in Southern Ontario for 7 to 10 days in September on my vacation! I'm renting a car in Ottawa and just driving around visiting family and friends.

"My buddy's girlfriend wonders why there are are not more cider companies in Ontario considering that Ontario grows a lot of apples" Are there any cider makers in Ontario? I've tasted and enjoyed non-alcoholic apple cider at farm makets, (St Jacobs, etc) I'd really like to try a fresh hard...

I just got back from a great trip to Halifax. Sadly "John Shippey's" brewery is indeed dead. My brother and I sampled the Keefe's Stout at "Gingers", was very nice. The "Rogue's Roost" didn't have stout of any kind on tap (they may have had Guinness, I can't remember) b...

"That'll be pretty tough to do, since Shippey's closed down almost a year ago... " My brother was told by a guy at the former John Shippey's location that they would be re-opening in June. We'll run by and check it out. I'll report back  Keefe"s Irish Stout? Sounds like my kind ...
Since you're in NL, Halifax is much closer - and has both of those available. The Chocolate Stout doesn't last long on the shelves (at Premier Wine and Spirits) though. Chimay Blue and Red are readily available at the NSLC.
Rogue Chocolate Stout is available in Halifax? Thats great! ...

Rogue Chocolate Stout and Chimay? Now you have my mouth watering!
I have been searching for more bottles of those on all my travels. The Chimay Ales seem to be more common than the Rogue products. I may have to fly to Oregon :)

Micheal Jackson's "Beer Companion" is the book that started my interest in better beers, and got me dreaming of going to Belgium, England, Germany etc.

I'll have to have a look for that McAuslan Scotch Ale. Thanks for the generous offer Ian, but I don't have anything to trade. I would be happy to bring up a couple bottles of Propeller Porter if you would like to try that. Its not as exotic as some of those you have in your celler. I saw "Samic...

Hi everyone, I'm Frank and I'm a longtime lurker here. I don't live in Toronto now, but I did spend two years in the Younge and Eglington area of Toronto a few years ago. And I vist Ontario 3 or 4 times a year. Mostly Ottawa. I love stouts and porters but I'll try (and enjoy) them all. The LCBO in O...
