Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

For what it's worth, the following link seems to indicate that it is, in fact, Rubaiyat that is importing the Burton Bridge. Now how up to date this info is, I don't know.

I believe that the Saku porter is available at the Estonian House on Broadview, just south of Pottery Road. This was the case a few years ago, when an Estonian friend of mine gave me a bottle, but I don't know if it is still true. I might have to go through her, seeing as how I'm not Estonian or spe...

I've always had a soft spot for the Brew Pub, although I recognise that their selection isn't necessarily what it could be. However, I have had some great beers there, notably the Anchor Christmas Ale last year. I've been meaning to hit the Pizza Plant, but have yet to do so. That being said, if you...

Unfortunately, I think that despite the enormous leaps that have been made with a general awareness of beer and its multifaceted purposes, the vast, overwhelming majority of beer consumers are drinking Molson, Labatt, and what have you. I suspect that there is a latent (or more likely, not so latent...

I don't know, I think that some of his other reviews are quite persuasive and compelling: Old Milwaukee: "Good shit, white trash, the epitome of good beer. Nothing better than coming home to a fridge full of this stuff after a long day of slacking off." Keystone Premium: "Great white ...

While Faithful's defense of Steelback is somewhat troubling, the guy in the following link is even more troubling - his admiration for Arrogant Bastard and Sam Smith Oatmeal Stout notwithstanding:

Baltika and Zywiec porters

I have a question directed to nobody in particular, although maybe somebody would have an answer. Why is it that we can get the mass-produced euro-lagers made by Baltika and Zywiec, and yet cannot get their fantastic porters? I've gotten both from Premier and Beers of the World with no difficulty (n...

Is it Pacifico that you're referring to? It's a Mexican lager that was in the LCBO a few years ago. It's not a great beer, but refreshing on the beach. I like it when in Mexico, however, when in Canada it didn't have quite the same quality. A decent beer nevertheless, and at least a bit of a change ...

Rate Beer snobbery

Alright, now I'm just interested here, but are people put off by the snobbery of RateBeer? I think it's a useful reference for getting a general sense of a certain beer, but I sometimes feel a bit put off by the elitist snobbery that just oozes from it. I love my beer, and for my young years (22), I...

Collecting beer bottles is a part of the experience for me. God only knows how many I have (400+, I'd guess... I can't be bothered to keep close check), but I've got them set up in my basement bar, so when I have my friends over, we can look over the bottles and reminisce about beers that we have kn...
