Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

One improvement is what seems to be proximity search results. IOW, a search for a product in Hamilton will also (finally) include stores in Dundas, Ancaster, Stoney Creek, etc.

But a search for Pyramid Outburst brings no results :(

Wow. But if there is an established set of exceptions and list of contract brewers and events to which SOP's have been granted for serving contract brewery beers, doesn't that set a standard that can overrule this "rule" if challenged by brewers like Left Field? Even though I've never bee...

Contract Brewers at Ontario Fests? No longer!

Left Field Brewery is likely the first target of ACGO's policy enforcement: if you are a contract-brewer you cannot serve at Special Occasions: From their site: "it’s recently been brought to our attention by the AGCO that as a contract brewer, we’re only allowed to sell beer to three parties; ...

Man, what a great event. Both The Ship and GLB really stepped up to deliver just a fine experience. A really nice night chilling with old friends, meeting new friends and taking beer. Hopefully this is just the first craft beer "event" in Hamilton's reinvention. Thanks to Troy, GLB and, a...

Met up with a close friend there last night. As always, the tap selection had a number of good options. The menu is straightforward, with simple but well prepared food at an affordable price. What struck me is that no matter what day of the week I've been there, by 7:00 the place is packed. Standing...

Real Canadian Beer Festival - Niagara Falls

Did any of you get to the Fest on Saturday? This first-ever event in Niagara was really well attended. The ticket line-up was very long. There were brewers whose beer was a first-time for me: Turtle Island Brewery; Brimstone Brewing; Descendants. Most brewers brought interesting/adventurous beers ra...

Dstribution laws in USA & the craft brewers

Steve Hindy, President of Brooklyn Brewery, has an opinion piece in today's NY Times.

He describes how the archaic rules of dsitribution, called franchise laws, make it very hard for small and/or startup breweries to gain access to markets.

Interesting read. http://nyti.ms/1mkfk4h

Yes to the "juicey-ness". I loved Lake Effect, and then this one steps forward as a winner.
