lower on the criminality scale (manslaughter) relative to the prices they charge for single malt Scotch whisky - especially over 15 years of age (1st degree murder)!

Re: Free our Beer - Entirely free!

Why is every sweeping decision in Ontario rooted in a single occurrence of one guy ^ somebody claims was tipsy, or else 1-2 messages from people that were offended by a label or something? In a system where a minority can elect a majority government, it shouldn't surprise that an even smaller minor...

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives

bottom line for me: the more restrictions they put on it, the less likely I am to give KGBO my money* ... all the more full cases available to the apologists who would like to keep the government monopoly in the dark ages of retail

(*same applies to any other retailer or business)

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives

Only allowing unopened returns makes sense and I hope they enforce that to the max. I don't see any reason why we should expect the lcbo to protect us against buying stuff we don't like. In any other business that return policy would be absurd, and rightly so. Not absurd at all, there are many reta...

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives

What's to stop someone from buying an expensive bottle of whiskey, trying a glass, then returning the bottle? Until they widen the sampling program* to the level of free enterprise retailers, there is NO WAY they can (or should) prevent people from returning products they do not like ... or defecti...

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives

Yesterday I left 10 bottles of Even More Jesus off at Promenade LCBO (kind of ironic, considering the area). A nice, big beer with a perfect mouthfeel. A bit too pruney, at the expense of all the other notes, but still very nice to share. Thanks for the heads up! Thought about ordering this one but...

Re: Beer in Grocery Stores

I know someone who works at Costco and they said that they will start selling beer. Although I'm sure it'll be no different than normal grocery stores sell. I wish we could get the wine/beer selection that American Costco gets. I do believe that Costco now has the greatest wine purchasing power in ...

Re: LCBO Online Ordering Launches

This came from Keep6 Imports. So it's on them or the brewery. Not the LCBO. Good to know, thanks. ... but somehow I think it gets back to lcbo. Given the amount of time it takes them to do anything, my guess is keep6 had to have stock ready to ship as soon as lcbo got its act together. From what I ...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

Saison Dupont coming back as well....but in the smaller bottle format. They were disappointed with sales during the last release in the 750ml format. It did not do well. As one that dislikes large bottle sizes, I welcome the smaller bottles/cans! I would rather pay a small premium for two 355ml bot...

Re: LCBO Online Ordering Launches

Three day turn-around time on case of DDC Moralite ... and they didn't replace original packaging with huge box filled with styro popcorn.

Only downside is the pre-cellaring: bottled June 7, 2016 ... over 2 months to travel a few hundred Kms, presumably by birch bark canoe

That part was rather annoying given they already have all the info they need in the original order - bureaucracy at its best
