Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

This would also be a great place to put any announcements you get from distant brewers. While a press release local to say, Portland, might not mean much to us here, it might be good to share with someone travelling there.

As I understand it, the BS supplies the LCBO. I can't see them doing anything without a profit motive.

When the district first opened, I thought, here is a great business and arts incubator. The most successful result has been Mill St. and maybe Balzacs. I think it's great there is a place that can launch quality micro businesses into quality mid-macro businesses. It's what turns me on about the neig...

The whole issue of pouring rights, whether at events or in bars, irritates me big time. Especially when it leads to exclusivity, I mean lack of choice. It's one thing for a marketing department to gain visibility by sponsoring events or buying banner space, but it speaks of corporate insecurity when...

I have received a number of private messages encouraging me not to permanently leave the bartowel, and as a result I have decided to stick around. In the future I will not get so emotionally involved, and I will limit my LCBO defence posts as most people here find them to be insane. That's great! I...

Recent Coors ad

I just noticed a new Coors ad about colour changing labels. I guess their customers now need to know when it tastes like cold. :D

Well here's another one for you. I went to drop off some ST and Rogue empties at my local BS and got a big hassle about there being no deposit on them. Trying to convince them that they came from the LCBO went nowhere. I finally got a "you're guilty but we will take them this time" respons...

I just picked up a couple sixes od ST without twist-offs or stickers. No price reduction though.

You'd think for the premium price they would at least put 'em in the cooler!

I'm curious to see if there is a valid legal challenge. For instance, is is legal for a government to forcibly mandate a producer to use a competitor to go to market? There have been many challenges to companies like Bell controlling the infrastructure other communications providers like ISPs have t...

It. Tastes. Cold.

A billboard in Toronto told me. Billboards don't lie.

Lay off the Coors.
And apparently the cans fly!

They are pretty different. For one, the Mill St. Stock Ale is their weakest product while the Molson Stock Ale is probably their strongest.
