Re: Peppered beers

I think Skeleton Key is coming out at the end of the month. Perhaps a Pepper one again this year?

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

There really is no rhyme or reason to pricing here. The fact we get Utopias for the equivalent of US$85 when it is minimum US$190 down south is even more confounding. Sometimes companies use high pricing to position their brands as "super premium" in a market. This could be going on here,...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

$22.95 is way out of line with the LCBO's usually cheap pricing for US craft. Holy crap. It cost me less to trade for 2018 Prop and Reserve. It will only be slightly more per bottle for a pre-trade I have for Double Barrel and Caffe de Ola! The one bottle limit is rather annoying too. I think I’ll ...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

The new wild beer, Intermodal is quite good. A little funky on the nose, with some grape, stone fruit and oak aromas and flavours. Maybe a little lemon too. More American than Belgian I’d say, but really quite good. It will be nice to see how it develops over time.

Re: Uncorked-Wine and Spirits Appreciation

Blanton’s Single Barrel Special Reserve, along with the regular are showing up quickly, and being gobbled up in stores. The former is great if you trade with Americans, as it isn’t sold down there.

OWA 107 has popped up as well. Lots to go around.

Re: What're you drinking right now?

That Notch Polotmavy was spectacular. The head on it was like a Pilsner mousse. Can't argue with that. I really enjoyed both of their beers. The A-list brewery lineup was the main draw for me, but once there I was equally impressed with the wide range of styles available. Just a great festival all ...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

That Henderson stout is the best beer I’ve had from them. If it becomes a regular, it could fill a niche like the Clifford Porter for a solid, to style local option. I’m generally underwhelmed by Silversmith, but am intrigued. By this one. have you tried Block Three Frankenstout? it's really, reall...

Re: Blood Brothers Brewing

I went to Blood Brothers yesterday. First time in a very long time. The current space is great, especially while the weather is nice with how open it can be. I overheard a conversation between one of the brothers and a tradesman. It looks like they are putting in a canning line. The current IIPA ‘Ev...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

I have several 2018 BOYD in my beer fridge. All 3 I've had in the past 4 months have been infected. It's especially sad because I kept saving them when I had company over. I don't suppose there's any chance Bellwoods has some kind of return policy. :-? I mentioned this issue in passing at Haf...

Re: New York/Manhattan/Brooklyn

Hoping for some more recent advice on Brooklyn and the drive down there from Toronto.

Other than the obvious spots in Brooklyn, are there a couple breweries I should really try to hit?

Any places on the drive down I should make time for?

Thanks.

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

Up until the most recent bottle, my 2018 BOYDs have been fine. I think Ive had, or sent out 6 of them prior to the bad one. Thanks for the replies. I just want to make sure Im not sending out beer with known - even if not well-known - issues. The infected 2018 BYOD I sent out was to Sacramento. Repl...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

I was wondering if anyone has had infection issues with beers other than the 2018 BOYD? I sent a Black Roses to someone recently as a desired extra in a trade and he let me know it had gone quite sour. Has anyone had issues with 2017 BOYD, 2017 or 18 Skeleton Keys or recent 3 Minutes to Midnight? Ch...
