Excellent warning, Belgian. We should all follow this...

Eatdrink Magazine / Brennan's Beer Bistro
Two-part question:
1.) I was just wondering if that Malt Monk guy from Eatdrink Magazine was on this here bartowel.com? Or do y'all know who he is?

2.) Anyone gone to Brennan's Beer Bistro, in London, ON. yet?

Excellent question, why am I trying to do this? Not sure really, thought it would do 'something' interesting. I guess, what I really am trying to do, is stop my whole cone fresh hops from absorbing all my precious beer when I rack the finished product off of the sediment. I hate how much more liquid...

Cider lovers: Twin Pines Orchard & Cider House, Thedford
Went apple picking in Thedford, and stumbled upon the hard cider they make. Had no idea this place made hard cider. They make three kinds of cider, and ice cider, and are rumoured to make a Perry pear cider as well. It's located in the upper part of the gift-shop, you can sample all the cider variet...

Idea - Aerating wort in a blender with fresh hops thrown in.
So I came up with this idea.... Can I bust up hops and aerate my wort in a blender? I'll throw a bunch of fresh hops-on-the-cone into a blender (or a food processor [the kind with 2 blades that spin in a circle]), and pour in some wort, then blend for a few seconds to bust up the fresh hops, and at ...

Yo, in London The Grad Club at University Western has a quiz night and it's pretty intense. 3 rounds, covering arts, literature, mathematics, philosophy... pretty much every subject. It's quite a challange, and a hell of a good time. However, I attended the event in the summer, I don't know if they ...

Went Friday night, 4pm-8pm session. Well done, had a blast. Fantastic selection, and I must agree the 1/4 pint, 1/2 pint, full pint option was very very useful, I hope that option stays around. My favourite was the Amato Texas Reserve Brown, couldn't get over how good it was.... I'll also mention th...

I've used the SAF WB 06 yeast in my wheat beer recipes, and i've used a regular ale strain as a comparison, and you can really notice the suspended cloudy yeast character that the SAF WB 06 brings to your beer, you shouldn't use any finnings or irish moss though, they could cancel each other out. I'...
