Re: Vermont
Foley should be at all the bigger beer stores. Frost too, but it sells out much faster. Better priced and better beers IMO. I always found the Onion River Co-op in downtown Burlington to be pricier than the other organic spots in the state. Beer selection is worse also. Much prefer Hunger Mountain f...

Re: Advice for Toronto to Vermont road trip
Cornwall - Burlington isn't the greatest drive but I've done it now so many times it actually kinda flies by. Unless I'm heading to Jay Peak or straight to Hill I take the Ferry; I like being able to get out of the car and stretch my legs a bit. Usually stop for a coffee outside Chateauguay and occa...

Re: Vermont
Not quite Vermont but I also hit Deciduous in New Hampshire on this trip as well. Some neat things being brewed there, including some of the better Berliner's I've had from the US.

Re: Vermont
Stopped at Frost a couple times on my most recent trip. Love that spot. Their stuff should only get better. Couple spots to add to the list: Worthy Burger in South Royalton has a killer taplist, especially for being in a town as tiny as Royalton. Both Hill and Lawson had taps when I stopped over dur...

Re: Advice for Toronto to Vermont road trip
If you're going through Canada I'd stop at Kingston for a night and hit up Stone City Ales. Easy drive heading into Burlington or Swanton or even directly to Hill from there. The I90 will take a fair bit longer. Syracuse is probably your best stop, with the tradeoffs being you'll get a better select...

Re: LCBO Autumn Craft Beer Release 2016
Decent enough list if not unexciting. If there was any way to ensure close to fresh sucks I might be motivated to pick some up. The real exciting stuff (by comparison) is online only.

Re: Current ratebeer.com Ontario top 10
Black Oak sold out that first batch extremely quick then we did not see it again for another year or so (My timeline might be off if someone wants to correct me). Within a couple years Smashbomb was the "In" beer for Ontario hopheads looking for a local fix and a (this part is my opinion o...

Re: What're you drinking right now?
tried a friend's Rose d'hibiscus that they got on tap. it was not good. no longer tart like in previous years. it's changed. amsterdam's interesting. you have 2 very talented brewers - iain and cody - but you have a large, multi-provincially-distributed brewery. so i think that amsterdam and great ...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Spearhead was the first time I saw a visible rep of one brewery verbally trashing another (better) brewer while promoting his own product. I suspect that happens a fair bit but it was enough to put me off their products. Their post Hawaiian beers sucking was just a bonus I guess.

IPA tasting with the aforementioned friend. My scores: 1. Ransack the Universe 2. BTP Aromatherapy. This was close. 3 and 4 in no order:. Smashbomb and Immodest. He didn't score anything but liked Ransack the best as he got Peach (his favourite fruit) in the aroma and taste. He's learning ;) *Edit* ...
