Re: Crossroads (Weston & 401) clearance section

I'll have to have another one and see what my findings are. This is one of my favourite styles, I was a bit disappointed from this pick up. Thanks for clarification on the slow gush!

Re: Crossroads (Weston & 401) clearance section

Im going to forewarn, the sigma might be a little off. I bought 9 and 4 of them haven't tasted right so far, and I've had two different people tell me the same. Goodness, how do you make a sour Ale go off? Is it a flawed Brewing? Pop, bottle doesn't gush. Sniff, what a nice aroma, rich balsamic and...

Re: Austin, TX

I was there in January, what screw2000 posted is still relevant. A few things to add... - Live Oak makes some highly rated german style beers. Their hefe just got rated the best hefe overall by paste magazine. - Jester king is worth the trip, even just to check out the area. - I overlooked a lot of ...

Re: Left Field Brewery

They used to have 750ml growlers. Wonder what happened to them. No reason to not do fills in my opinion, but that's a whole other convo. Unless you're setup well, growlers are annoying. Cleaning, sanitizing, filling. Sometimes a bottling line is just easier than taking returns. Plus any extra stock...

Re: Cameron's

If you haven't tried the two new BA Barleywines from Camerons you should. Both the Early Bird Breakfast and Where the Buffalo Roam are legit. I did a side by side with Where the Buffalo Roam and DDC Solstice d'Hiver bourbon and there was no doubt.....Where the Buffalo roam was head and shoulders ab...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

Because we all love overpriced beers: Flying Monkeys Invictus is $38 for 750 mL. I had to look into why it was so expensive. "A beautiful Russian Imperial Stout solera aged in Andalusian sherry barrels and Buffalo Trace/ Pappy Van Winkle Bourbon Barrels over a year and blended into an incredib...

Re: General LCBO Debate & Discussion Thread

Clutch is my wife's favorite also, and i love it too. It looks like a glass of grapefruit juice, it's so hazy! She fell in love with Double Clutch at the Gtown Beer Festival last year, hopefully they will have that available again soon, especially with their 5x production which is upcoming double c...

Yeah I'll second this man. Ian stated the origin. A loon is Cantillon. A whale (whalez, whalezbro) is anything highly sought after.

Re: FT: Cascade Elderberry x12 ISO: Vintage Lambic

Pretty sure north americans call all Cantillon beers "loons" since they probably don't know how to pronounce Cantillon.

Maybe you're confusing the word loons with whalez, bro.
