Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

...I doubt it's as simple as 'letting us have it now'. Many (not necessarily all) of those beers are probably made in smaller quantities than flagship stuff like Stone IPA, SNPA and Rogue Dead Guy... This may be so, but I've seen some of these beers back home in Ireland! If they can manage to get t...

3. It's not even that good! cmon now I've mentioned this before; I'm not knocking them, it's just that I feel it was exciting years ago but not really anymore. I would be far more pumped if we were going to get some of their other, more recent offerings. People are doing cartwheels about SN Pale Al...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

It's very difficult not to just go straight for a Headstock, which can always be found dated within a few days of it coming off the canning line. I mean it seems there are 3 main reasons to avoid the Stone - 1. They are just about knocking on the expiry date. 2. They're 9 bones each and 3. It's not ...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

I found that their APA (Citra) was better than their IPAs. I do agree with you though, that they are too malty. Have you had their Farmhouse Ale yet? I'd be interested to try that.

I was very impressed with his stout. I'm not normally a fan of coffee in stout, but this worked very well along with a fruity character. The 9% was well hidden also. Well worth checking out, imo.

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

...Even the best ISA I've ever had has just tasted like a watery IPA. They're fine and all, but I've never had one and not thought how much I'd rather just have a real IPA. This is exactly how I feel. The 'problem' is that you get used to drinking a 6.5% or 7% IPA, then anything less than that just...

Re: Bellwoods Homebrewing Competition

I still want to try those garlic and ramen beers. I laughed that you got two shout outs in the first paragraph! The winner apparently is an assistant brewer at Duggan's now, which is pretty cool. Though kinda uncool of Duggan's to put out a press release about it, to my mind. Seems a little stealin...

Yep. Drinking it now, and enjoying it. Not mind blowing, but you really can't argue with the price.

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

:D Underwhelmed by two stalwarts of their styles. Lol. I think people get a little too hung up on the Stone name. I'm sure when they were released years ago, they were groundbreaking and ahead of their time, for sure. But since then, many many Ales and IPAs have surpassed them. As I said, their Rui...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

Do the LCBO have plans to get in any of the other Stone beers? I was pretty underwhelmed by their IPA and Arrogant Bastard. I did however have their Ruination 2.0 recently and it is killer!

Re: LCBO Summer Craft Beer Release 2015

i like trou du diable in general, but i find their stuff hit or miss. they've got a couple brews that have been in the lcbo that i wish were year round. la tracteur comes to mind. lovely saison. I'm hoping their Apocalypso arrives at a few more TO stores. Only 22 bottles left across 3 stores accord...
