Re: Chronicle Brewery - Bowmanville

I finally made it to Chronicle. I had a really sub-par Dry Hopped Kettle sour. No hop presence whatsoever and barely tart. Very watery. I also had Dwarven Stout which was quite good. Lots of roasted malt, milk chocolate and very creamy. So, batting 500 for me. I’ll defintely Go back next time I’m I....

Re: LCBO Spring Seasonal Beer Release

Steamworks Flagship IPA is a beer I remember liking a lot. Ayinger is always good. Otherwise, I’ll second the yawn.

Re: Muddy York Brewing

When I first tried the Gaslight Helles, I was very disappointed, It was under lagered and had a good hit of DMS. I really want to see more locals offer this style, but they do need to get it right to. That's why I was disappointed, it sucked. I picked up a few cans this weekend to give them another...

If you don’t find a different vintage, I can do either 2015 or 2017. Cheers.

Re: Small Pony Barrel Works

For those who signed up for the Small Pony Culture Club...are you going to renew for 2019 or not? What is your reason for continuing or stopping? I signed up for 2018 but have yet to pick up my bottles...waiting for that last one to drop. I've enjoyed the couple non-Club beers I've had from them bu...

Re: Ontario brewed Tripels...

So MERIT has added to the list of ON brewed experimental tripels with By and By. It's brewed with wine skins and lees. What is the obsession with these types of adjuncts with this style? Would be great to see more tripels that stand on their own. Haven't you heard, you need a minimum two adjuncts t...

Re: The Granite

Yep, the Granite...why? Because Gin Lane Ale is out at 9.8 % and only 25 IBUS. And it’s delicous and dangerous. Haven’t had it in a LONg time but I don’t remember it being this excellent. They’ve got lots and they’re selling it in 650ml bottles for 11 all in bucks at the brewery. Thanks for this. I...

Re: Amsterdam Double Tempest Day - Nov 25

Has anyone seen the limits and the numbers available this year? I don’t want to go, but if there is a possibility that some lasts into the late afternoon or Sunday I may go. Their social media posts have been less than informative, at least what I have seen

Re: Winter Seasonal Craft Beer Release 2018/19

My wife’s cousin works at the LCBO. I know from him that there were many of the German calendars leftover after Christmas last year. I got one on Feb 1 for about 40% original price if I remember correctly. His store couldn’t wait to get rid of them. Not surprised they aren’t back. Yet from my recol...

Re: Worst Ontario Craft Breweries

I have had lots of stuff I haven’t cared for either because it was mediocre, boring, not to style, etc. I can only think of one brewery from which the beer I had was utter garbage. They don’t exist anymore. Practically Irish from Pickering. I’m not surprised they didn’t last very long. The beer I ha...

Re: Cask Days 2018

I enjoyed Session 2 last night. Highlights were the Yorkshire Square beers, a Stillwell Keller beer that was excellent, and first time having Rose de Gambrinus on tap. Overall I think I like afternoon sessions better. I’m old, so I found it a little louder than I would want. They could have used a f...

Any lucky souls here win a bottle of the Old Forester Birthday Bourbon from the LCBO allotment. Sadly, I did not.
