Oh... and two years to get this in place in just 150 of 450 stores smacks of bureaucracy.

An extra point of access sounds like a great idea to me, though I expect it will be a watered down version of what it should be. Already the mention of a separately enclosed area infuriates me. It smacks of puritanism and treating citizens as children. Still, if I can pick up a decent sixer to drink...

Well said Gary! They're the original macro... I haven't had the FES for a while, but it use to be really good. Otherwise, there a far better options. I use to order a draught every year or so, whenever there were few options, but don't even remember the last time I resorted to that. I'll third the ...

Hey Stephen,

I've done a similar thing in the past to get beer for myself and a friend (both 1982). Bay UK set me up nicely with some Thomas Hardy's and a Courage RIS. Not expensive by any measure.

i mean, if a bar's opening up in 2014, you think they'd kind of get it beer-wise and not (likely) have lines payola'd in. Why? Just because there's a couple of hundred of us who think it would be great to have some Bellwoods and GLB seasonals on the Danforth? I hate to tell you, but Mill St. Organi...

Cracked one a week ago. Totally worth it. The bottle's a showstopper, and the beer's top notch. There are better beers at the lobo right now, but in the absence of other special event beers like Deus, I think this is a great choice for a xmas dinner.

Went today just after lunch and I liked it. Sampled the IPA (nice until the diacteyl kicked in) and the lager, which was enjoyable as a pint. Service was good, and I like what they've done to the place. Didn't try the food, but the smell made me hungry. A few other beers I remember seeing on tap: go...

Any one know if their growler sales are up and running yet? Looking to get a growler to share with a friend tomorrow, and until Left Field and Muddy York open, the options east of the DVP are pretty limited.

Anyone have any word on when the Red Rocket Stout is due out? I had it on Saturday at Tallboys and didn't enjoy it. The spice level was too high for my liking and built up strong, and overshadowed most of the coffee. The spice character tasted like powdered cayenne from my cupboard instead of fresh...

Bush Pilot Norseman

Enjoying a bottle of Norseman with Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami. Seemed apt considering the beer's nordic roots and it's aging in armagnac barrels. This is a beast of a brew, and I mean that in the best possible of ways. Huge caramel and alcohol soaked raisin flavour. Slick mouthfeel with a hef...

Any new recommendations in Seattle since this thread died down 6.5 years ago? I'm heading down on Monday for a conference and will be staying downtown, a stone's throw away from Pike Place.

Hmm... a beer brand that build it's equity on being as distant from blonde and lager as you can get releases a blonde lager. Ballsy or stupid, I vote the latter.
