Re: Coronavirus

I hate to be Mr. Contradiction-Face, but the LCBO is not the largest buyer and retailer of beverage alcohol in the world . They are one of the largest, though...they even addressed this in their FAQ back in the day. (Some of the larger European supermarket chains, like Tesco, take that crown.) LCBO...

That's the key!
once burned, twice shy.
breweries ship out stale product at their own peril - i.e. risk never selling anything to that person ever again

Re: Rorschach Brewing

As for freshness, your suggestion of shipping stale beer is entirely conjecture. I, personally, would guess the opposite. I can't see any craft brewery, who most I know are passionate about what they do, would dare give a paying customer stale beer. Not conjecture, real experience. I'm not suggesti...

Re: Rorschach Brewing

I haven’t heard anyone talk about this place much so I’m assuming they aren’t popular I think the vast majority of breweries in Ontario never got talked about before the pandemic primarily for two reasons: 1. most of them operate mainly for locals - not many offered shipping in the past 2. their be...

Re: Who's selling 355ml cans?

I disagree
BUT
people like me probably buy a lot less beer than those that want tall boys and bombers
so
have no fear, your "cuck cans" won't take over the industry, and you'll be able to continue drinking 10% alc bombs by the half liter

Re: brewed.today

FYI if the brewery is using Canada Post, the delivery may not come to your door due to CP's covid-19 policy. drivers are leaving a notice on your door (or community mailbox) to go pick up the package at your local "post office" (ie Shoppers Drug Mart, in my case) I placed 3 orders a few da...

Screw you guys, I'm very mature. I think you're being a little unfair to sean here. I didn't read his post as "why the heck is Bellwood charging these prices?!" but more like "How can I justify buying this at that price?" Of course Bellwoods will and should charge what the marke...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Bellwoods Brewery Jutsu 473 mL can | LCBO#: 16051 $4.50 Is it just me or is $4.50/can for a 5.6% ABV pale ale a little crazy. I know Bellwoods has always been a bit pricier, and in the past I saw the value, but I thought since expanding and introducing a canning line they'd be able to bring their p...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Yeti, which just hit the shelves of my local today. This is, IMO, a truly world class Imperial Stout. I picked up eight, two for now and a half dozen to sit for a while. is your "local" Summerhill? I saw yeti in their beer walk-in fridge (north end of store) a few weeks back but haven't s...

Re: That Boutique-Y Whisky Company Whisky Holiday Calendar 2019

Halfway through the set, very disappointing thus far This type of tasting set should showcase a variety of distilleries AND flavour profiles. So far, the variety of distilleries is there but the 8 single malts are virtually indistinguishable from a smell/taste perspective. All from fairly tired ex-b...

Re: That Boutique-Y Whisky Company Whisky Holiday Calendar 2019

Looks like these Calendars are gone-gone. Went from on-sale overstock to unlisted. I don't understand the logic of a) long sold out items remaining on product searches for months, or b) items on store shelves nowhere to be found BUT can confirm the holiday whisky calendar is very much still availab...
