Re: Bar Hop 2 (Peter St)

I'll just say I'm giving BH2 a little more time to mature in the kitchen after my first visit during their opening week. Food was pretty uneven. Their menu concept is also quite different. There are some sharable appetizer/tapas size plates. Then you move to sharable entrees in the $40 range like wh...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I picked up a Smuttynose Finest Kind at the King & Spadina LCBO today. $15 for the 6, LCBO #436725, doesn't seem to exist on the web site. Think I'll post on NAC's FB page, asking WTF. TBS only, we were told. I mentioned this beer at my local Beer Store when returning bottles the other day, and...

Re: Great Lakes

I would definitely take one or two. I don't think I'll make it out to the brewery to get some. I'll try and stop by tonight on my way home from work. I think there may have been a limit of 2. I'll respond back here to confirm. Yeah, if anyone gets in on this, I have a surplus of bellwoods to trade....

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

GLB, sawdust and nickelbrook (unfortunately, not recently for nickelbrook though) are all far better imo. I just don't get the fanboyism for bellwoods. I love that they put out a tonne of different beers... but, it all tastes a little amateur to me. that's probably the funniest thing i've read in a...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

Went by this morning around 11:30. Still tons of beer...the shop looks a little overwhelmed. Shortish line. The staff member thought the 3 Minutes would last until Sunday at least. As for the Lambda, it's good but just less to people's taste. It's quite sweet. The brett barrel aged monogamy was hone...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

So who wants to place bets on how long 3 Minutes to Midnight will last? 4,000 bottles with an 8/person limit means at least 500 people will get it (minus whatever they're holding back). That should take care of most of Bartowel. Cherry Farmageddon was a 1,000 bottle release with a 4 bottle limit and...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

I still haven't cracked open a Lambda from the original release....guessing it is drinking nicely now though? Well, my original memories of lambda were dimmed, but having recently had the original release, I found it was much sweeter and had far less funk than it did originally. The new version of ...

Re: LCBO Winter craft beer release 2015

It's not by accident. The LCBO has straight up admitted they're scaling back the special releases as a result of that. We had a fairly long discussion about it in another thread a while back. This is where i Just wish they would go a little bit further with the specialty beer stores. Let SummerHill...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

new format at TBS.. seems like an odd beer to carry in cases.. but what do I know. Fruli Strawberry Beer 24 × Bottle 330 ml Price: $72.95 Even weirder is that bartenders seem to pour it over ice. Certainly led to my friend promptly sending it back when he got a beer with ice cubes in it. That being...

Where does on find out about their releases? Their website and facebook page are not helpful from what I can see.

I've been wondering what's going on with them. They seem to be having an awfully hard time with their paperwork to start brewing their own beer. Any ETA?

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

I predict Lambda lasts more than a week. Its a great beer.....but you can buy Rochefort 10 for half the price..... There was quite the stack of it when I went in after work. Definitely no need to panic and run out to buy it. I'm enjoying an after-dinner bottle right now. More brett-forward and funk...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

I think the sample idea would be nice, especially since the pub opens much later than the bottle shop. Those of us who like to go at lunch have to buy based on expectation and experience. That said, I've never had any trouble finding trade partners for any of the bottles I buy. I always buy the max...

New details for the Lambda release this Friday: Lambda, our brett barrel aged quad will be released in bottles on Friday at 11am. Complex, rich, and full-bodied with subtle brett aromatics, notes of sherry, red grape, raisin, and caramel -- at 12% it's a beer to get you through the winter ahead. 1 ...

Their Kapow IPA is apparently making a return this weekend according to their Facebook page. It's my favorite beer from them. I do wish they'd keep their webpage a bit more updated. Given their remote location, they need all the press they can get. Easier than trying to poke around Facebook, twitter...
