I keep on saying we're going to end up having more diversity and also pay through the nose for it. But that's just me.

I liked Petrus better in terms of its restrained tartness but I think Rodenbach 's got much more complexity if you get over the sourness.

I got some at Dufferin & Wilson. After spending a few good minutes looking for it on the shelf I asked the manager and he got me 2 six packs from the back. Opened the first one ... good job Perry. I hope it's going to be a solid seller. Now, let's talk about a american style double IPA and let's...

I had my first today and I have to say it wasn't bad. I could distinguish the oak under the thick layer of sourness (AKA tartness). I don't think it's easy to match it to food either. I'm going to buy some more but I definitely won't stock up.

Are you sure they have them at Davisville? They are not showing on the LCBO site as stock and I'd hate to drive all the way there for nothing.

Stone Brewing

Been down south for a few days. One evening we ended up in a small pub that happened to have Double Bastard and Ruination IPA on tap. Both over 100IBU. Unbelivable stuff, try them if you can get your hands on some. Two gals at the table next to us were enjoying a bottle of Edition 2004...

As far as I know Hop Wallop doesn't come in bottles. Nevertheless if you come across it on tap try it. So far it's the best IPA i've had.

I've already placed my order for 2 cases of Bigfoot and didn't have any problems. I just needed to sign the lab testing waiver. And, yes it's only available in February next year but you can still place your order now.

Good beer in Boston

I've just return from Boston MA. Having heard of Sunset Grill & Tap in Allston we decided to stop by. Imagine 112 taps (kegs cycled every 3 weeks) in one place. The place next door had only 80 Taps. It was a really different experience. I pity the beer selection in Toronto and I think we have a ...

Sleeman Fine Porter

Well... it turns out the guys from Sleeman can actually brew a real beer when they really want to. I just picked up a six pack of this seasonal from Weston/401 store and was pleasantly surprised. Really good balance between malt and hops and, I think, at this point it's quite an unique offering on t...

Belhaven Wee Heavy

I tried this one yesterday for the first time. Nicely crafted - it reminds me of Skullsplitter. It think it's a must try for all who like scotish ales.

Well... apparently most people in Ontario are happy with this arrangement so we can bitch all we want. And also, if privatization meant prices in the range of Premier Gourmet I'd think twice.

I tried to order Sierra Nevada Bigfoot a few weeks ago. The brewery was OK with my two cases order but they don't have any stock from last year so I have to wait until they brew the next batch (sometime in January).
