Went last night. Great to have another place to go. Food was great. Had the oysters and the meat pie. Beer was great...No 9 was very fresh. I hope that they last there! Disappointed with the downstairs though....it's not set up completely yet, but I used to love the downstairs when it was still Deni...

I totally agree, going to The Beer Store is like going to a Timmies Drive Thru. You line up, tell them what you want, if they haven't got it you pick something else. The product comes out, maybe fresh maybe not, I know now to look for dust. Comparing them to Timmies is giving them too much credit ;)

I actually like the LCBO and hope they keep it....I may disagree with some of the product choices they make or do not make but on the whole it is a very classy and customer friendly experience. The beer store however is perhaps the most ghetto retail experience I have ever had. Even dollar stores an...

Allow beer and wine in variety stores
Take away the beer store...allow sales in variety/grocery stores. Please Dalton save us from this out dated model!

Beer Store in Torontoist: Heroes and Villains 2009: Villains
Interesting article in Torontoist http://torontoist.com/2009/12/heroes_and_villains_2009_villains.php?gallery0Pic=3#gallery Every time I go to the beer store I hate it a little more. I was there two days ago -- had to wait 15 minutes while some guy unloaded a years worth of wine bottles. Then I of c...

Beer Sampling in Grocery Stores....
Oh, if only we could even discuss this as a possibility in Ontario!
North Carolina is considering a law to allow beer sampling in grocery stores, where wine tasting is already allowed.

Absolutely Ridiculous!
The Ontario gov't should definitely break the foreign stranglehold on the beer that Ontario consumers drink! This just highlights the ineptitude of our regulators! Put the beer store back in the hands of Ontario! OR allow new owners to enter the market! (ie private beer stores!!!)

It's an old link, but made me smile!

Sadly, I suspect such a device wouldn't make it through the Canadian fall let alone a Canadian winter....unless....you filled the contraption with really strong beer!
