I'm a fan of tripel karmeliet myself. can't think of any decent Ontario tripels...nor any decent quads or dubbels that weren't one offs.

Only the 2016 normal rat queen was for sale. Don't know if they are making a normal version this year?

Barrel Aged Rat Queen.
It's quite good and should get better with age.

Congrats to all the early buyers, especially those who got it cheap!
If it keeps popping up I suppose I'll have to go on the hunt, but I'm hoping most will wait until the official release before they sell it.

The BOYD glass didn't tickle my fancy, but this Skeleton Key one does! Doing a cull of beer glasses again, trying to keep my collection to under 100 glasses, gets harder every year to remove older ones! As a workaround I've begun collecting taster and sampler glasses instead, which I don't count tow...

Had the 2011 on tap, but not in bottles....but ya, it was the best bourbon-maple aged beer I've tried.

Cool to know...although my boxes were just paper and cardboard waste, which I left at the LCBO pick up store for them to deal with.instantkamera wrote:They are biodegradable, people. Toss them in the compost and spray them down with water - watch them melt away.

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives
Ya,
Their packaging is pretty wasteful....even if you do in-store pickups of your onlien orders.
Last time I grabbed mine, it was a HUGE box, with 5 small beers in it. They guy at the store even commented that they pack these orders up kind of crazily.

Re: So is $3.75 for a 355ml can the new norm in east Toronto?
Seems a bit pricey...depends on the type of beer I guess though.
If it is their core beers like Eephus or Maris, that is considerably higher than their 650ml bottle prices / ml.

Too bad. I always enjoyed stopping in there, even though they never really had their own beers.

Couldn't help but notice almost no one getting samples at Godspeed. Their offerings definitely looked like "plain vanilla" at this event. I'd argue it's more a case of it being local. Why get something that's going to be available all week at the brewpub when there is stuff rarely availab...

Re: Zwanze
I bought a ticket but can't seem to find any sort of confirmation email. Maybe it went to spam....hmmm.
Im going to miss Cask days this year and have skipped a lot of other events, so I don't mind the exaggerated price for the Zwanze taste.
