Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I realize I am a bit late to the party, and it is not exactly the quintessential summer beer (though ok on a stormy, overcast day like today) but I couldn't agree more - this beer [Komes] is absolutely excellent and a steal at $3.65 for 500 ml. It could be listed for double that and I doubt you wou...

Re: LCBO Summer 2018 Craft Beer Release

Is anyone seeing that Saison Dupont on the shelves yet? I had a bottle of Dupont Avec Les Bons Voeux a few weeks ago for the first time and it nearly blew my mind! No, I doubt it's out yet. I'm sure there's still spring release stuff that isn't out yet, and if I recall correctly last year, Saison D...

Re: LCBO Summer 2018 Craft Beer Release

Tank 7!!!! I love that beer and will stock up.

I'm also a huge fan of Le Castor, although I haven't had that particular one (Brett Saison).

Heh, thanks all. I'm almost glad it's actually this weekend, I could really stand to sit out a release or two at this point.

Re:

I picked up the W eihenstephaner VITUS (great beer!) and the Boulevard Smokestack Series: Funky Pumpkin which I expect to be an interesting mashup of spicy and sour and bretty. It's only moderately well-received so my expectations are not exceedingly high despite the over-$15 price (it won't be Inf...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

This weekend. I'd heard the following weekend, but perhaps I misunderstood. The person I talked to did confirm a weekend release. Hoping it's the 25th as I'll be downtown that day, and wouldn't mind grabbing a couple bottles. I tried both of the picket fence 'saisons' the other day. The flavour pro...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere, but if I'm reading this right there seems to be a bunch of Hitachino stuff at Highway 7 and Woodbine. They have the amber, espresso stout, lager and nipponia. As in, available for single bottle purchase? The LCBO site is only showing online/full ca...

Re: Boulevard / Halcyon Barrel

The Boulevard may have just moved to a clearout location....I had 2-3 bottles and I thought it was very worthwhile....for a beer costing $14.10 & fallen through the cracks. The BB Quad is great, but I was referring to the Saison Brett, which is a whopping $19. I got one and really liked it, but...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

[DISCONTINUED] Smuttynose FinestKind IPA (473 mL can) was discontinued wonder what happened here weak sales #s a lot of SKUs on the shelves these days. Geeks buy a few (or one) and move on the the next new thing. Regular drinkers are most likely consuming Corona/heineken/bud/etc (just a guess) Exac...

Re:

...if I'm not mistaken the LC basically dictate the proposed supplier sell price in order to target a specific shelf price at a set markup. .... Exchange could mess with that. Definitely agree that they exert pricing and term pressure, although it can't be as simple as them just dictating price. Li...

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives

Two from Hitachino Nest online now. I'd really like to try the Red Rice one, but the case requirement will make that tough. The other is the Espresso Stout that was here a couple of years ago. That one I'll probably end up getting. Actually, I just looked and there are now two more, the lager and an...

Re: LCBO Autumn Import / Halloween / Ontario Release 2017

Wow, that's crazy. I've had the Omnipollo, it's good. But doing a craft IPA, and doing a top beer from one of the oldest breweries in the world are two very different things. If this can be pulled off well, that would be a very exciting development indeed.

Re: LCBO Online Exclusives

If anyone wants to split a case of Solstice, let me know. I really want to grab one but like others, 24 is a bit much.
