Just a somewhat tardy note that everyone standing around our table on April 14 considered the Scurrilous black Belgian IPA to be the beer of the evening. It had a straightforward northwest IPA nose, but the taste was much more complex--started sweet and roundish with yeasty notes, then halfway thro...

I don't think that Sammy would lie about this sort of thing, I mean a guy with over 5000 BA reviews, belongs to numerous private order groups and probably has about 10 trades on the go right now probably doesn't have the time to go posting false information on beer forums. If the source was anybody...

Alley Kat Coffee Porter on cask - with added coffee grounds for extra flavour. Real nice effort, great brewed coffee flavour, almost had a black IPA touch to it with the hopping. As it warmed it took on a black coffee with one sugar flavour. Reminded me very much of Viggo's coffee porter/stout he b...

Bleed-a-razzi is alright, beat doesn't work though. New Millenium Cyanide Christ is probably the best music video of all time

Stayin' Alive in the Wall is good though

Mill Street barleywine does suck pretty hard. Fat Cat is real nice, as is Thor's Hammer. Old Cellar Dweller is great. I'm not a huge fan of Solstice but the barrel aged version is out of this world.

How is Sam Adams Utopias worth > 100 bucks, I wonder. There are some awfully good barley wines for a few dollars at Premier Gourmet. Still, cool stuff and the Infinium sounds promising. Sam Adams covers a lot of middle ground for new craft beer drinkers. You've obviously never had Utopias. Thats li...

If a few of you want to have a 'ticker tasting' for the three new Ola Dubh it might be worth trying them in a vertical. See you in February. I'll be doing them in a vertical, but no tickers will be invited. Bobsy setting the superior example. I thought you Brits understood irony, I am disapp...

Feedback and prizes will be sent out next week.

Thanks everyone.

Awesome! Can't wait for this one in bottles, perfect timing for fall. Love the name too - reminds me of the Wolves in the Throne Room album "Black Cascade". For whatever reason, I did not expect to see people talking about black metal bands on Bar Towel. Nice... nice. I thought I could us...

Re: lets assume the LCBO is here to stay......

Len i just finished a growler of Mill Street Helles Bock, now bock off and answer the question!! You got it. Well, given that I work at the store level at one of the busiest LCBO locations in London, I feel I do quite a bit. And likely more than most people are able to do. Not only do I buy and dri...
