Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

I too always enjoy the Scottish gift pack. In fact, I'd say some of those beers (most notibly the Ebulum) don't get as much respect as they should, perhaps others feel they are a bit gimicky too and for that reason don't rate them as high...?

Just my two cents, but I like em all!

Re: Beer Epiphany Moments

1) Last week, watching the talented and charming Janice Hagan at Reservoir Lounge... (1. Slightly Off topic but...) I really enjoy the Reservoir Lounge. I've been half a dozen or so times now and it has alawys been a pleasent experience. Music is always great, no complaints about service or atmosph...

In Quebec, the Liefman lineup was going for $6-7/bottle at the Depanneurs. So, still cheaper than over there.

...replacing the onus on manufacturers and retailers to support the return cycle as well as part-take of immediate profits. I work for the Beer Store and when people return LCBO bottles with no deposit on them we simply take them anyways, and recycle them. We hire a private company that comes every...

Magnotta Altbier

I recently tried this for a first time. Magnotta is a brewery I was alittle skeptical off, and a style Ive yet to be impressed by...but hot damn! I was very, very surprised and pleased!

How do you guys feel? Is this anything special?

I don't work for the LCBO, and thus can't say I know this to be a hard fact, perhaps Peter can add his input. But keep in mind the selection at LCBO's vary from store to store, district to district. The one near our cottage has no selection outside the typical 500ml cans. The seasonals are often onl...

Re: Open Letter- J Public to the El Cee Bee Oh!

Why are the LCBO blocking out viable, quality competition from Mill Street Tankhouse and even US brewers... only to force unwelcome and undesirable EAST EURO lagers down our gullets? What is going ON here? My understanding is the LCBO does this to cater to Toronto's many, many immigrant/ethnic comm...

I'm sorry to say that the LCBO is in fact introducing many new brands in the coming months....none of you will be happy. More euro-lager crap even high alcohol in can...I don't have the list but it's incredibly uninspiring...We have the LCBO's call letter for the next year and, again, it's dismal.....

Just earlier today I stopped by one of the bigger LCBO's out here in the east end. I noticed they had made room for the incoming seasonals and already had the Trafalgar Bock up on the shelves. I asked the manager (who actually seemed rather knowledgful of his products) when he'd be expecting the sea...

If the East-Euro Lagers are any indication of the places they come from, ehh.... I'd... hesitate to go there on vacation. There is a great scene in the funny (albeit childish) movie EuroTrip where, by mistake, they find themselves in Bratislava (capital of Slovakia). They begin walking under the gr...

...I feel like the glory days of LCBO selection were before my time, and instead I'm witnessing the de-evolution of the LCBO... How can you say that when the LCBO has just reached the Golden Age of Euro Pale Lagers? Who needs Triple Bocks when we have Svyturus? I say let the good times roll... :win...

I hear that. I was there the other night with some friends, one of whom, her first comment was 'I bet that patio is really nice in the summer'. I said 'you know it!'

So, I'll meet ya there in a month or so.
