Re: LCBO Winter craft beer release 2015
Looks like they went for quality over quantity this time. I'll have to remember to cajole the local store into bringing in a case of Rodenbach this year.

I came into this thread to pick some low-hanging fruit, but I'm sad to say it looks like everyone else has already plucked the bottom branches bare. Ah well.

Re: LCBO 2015 Xmas Release
Looks like a copy and paste of the list from last Xmas, with Petrus #9 and an Aventinus variant thrown in. could be worse I guess. Will be nice to have the bernardus mixed pack back again. Definitely the main bright spot. The lack of St. Ambroise RIS and Vintage Ale is a huge bummer, though. Correc...

Re: Best non-Toronto, non-LCBO breweries?
Black Swan's porter is excellent, and their Wild Child is also quite nice, and could potentially help fill a huge gap in the market (not a lot of sours coming out of SW Ontario). I would love to see both of these become more widely distributed in the near future - perhaps as part of this newfangled ...

Re: Beer Coming to Grocery Stores?
Hopefully, but I seem to recall reading on these very forums that this is actually the exact opposite of what they intend to do.ercousin wrote:Hopefully this means the LCBO can expand SKU count though.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
1) not the only growler at the LCBO 2) other growler at LCBO is the same price 3) beer plus growler is $15+ at any brewery These are valid points, but I don't find them nearly as compelling as these two: An equivalent of less than a 6 pack for $16? Yeesh. And the bonus is that you basically have to...

Re: No more Dupont
Don't they frequently "discontinue" seasonal offerings near the end of the season? I haven't seen any information that says Dupont is gone for good, but to be fair I am not looking very hard. The LCBOWatch twitter account mentions it being discontinued, but I was under the impression that ...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Having now tried all three of the Stone beers that were brought in, they all seemed reasonably fresh to me. Although of course I'm sure they would have been better if they'd skipped the mandatory two-month warehouse ageing process entirely. Loved the Arrogant Bastard, and already bought a second bom...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
But personally, I would also love to see a lot more of the Quebec beers down here (fresh, of course!). Why don't we get more of the yummy DDC and Trou Du Diable offerings? Agreed. As a bonus, getting fresh beer from Quebec should prove less challenging than fresh beer that needs to be moved across ...

Re: Duggans and their beer
never understood the fascination with Duggans. everything i've had from them has been sub-standard. i don't mean for that to come across as harsh as it does but it is what it is. I generally agree with this, but as atomeyes explained, they are kind of a legacy brewery. I didn't have the opportunity...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
have you read the signage in the beer store lately? Kind of a tangent, but here's something that mildly amused me from their website . They list four 'types' of beer, the last of which is just called 'Malts'. The description they give - "Generally dark and sweeter in flavour, malts contain hin...
