I wasn't there until 11:30 or so. I watched most of the game at C'est What, worked my way through the honking and screaming of Yonge St. to the Beerbistro for a drink, and finished at Joe's. Evidently Joe's TV is leaving the bar now that the WC is over. I guests it's for special events only! P.S. I ...

Great news. Kilgour's is a nice little pub, one that I frequented often during my university years (and still do). The annex is generally devoid of good beer places (except for the Victory already mentioned), but this is a worthy place while in the area.

As much as I'd like to go to the beerfest this year, I can't make it. Too bad, since they're always a lot of fun.

Maybe next year! Thanks Jon for finding out some info on this.

Castro's is a great place, but I usually don't get there more than once per year due to its distance from my place as well.

Did anyone ever head down to Rochester? Nice idea, poor execution I suppose.

I think you can make your own mix-sixes at the Amsterdam brewery for those ones.

That's too bad about this one. Also too bad that none of the others from this brewery are available (not sure if they are any good though).

Anyone tried La Messagère?

I was at the Summerhill LCBO yesterday and noticed something I hadn't seen before - La Messagère from les Bieres de la Nouvelle-France in Quebec. According to the expensive ($16.95) six-pack, the beer is a "rice and buckwheat beer" and gluten-free. Anyone tried this? See their site: http:/...

Cass, speaking strictly for myself, the only way I would stay longer (I left around 8:40) in the future is if it took place somewhere else. The place is very nice but ridiculously expensive. I don't think there is anywhere in all of Toronto that charges as much for beer as they do. Yeah, I know cos...

Thanks. I have been thinking about ways to increase the number of awards. This year's was rushed a little, so I'll take more time over the next year to think about new ideas. Joe - I left around 10:30 and I was the last one to leave (along with two of my friends). For some reason the GTAwards are no...
