Re: LCBO Winter craft beer release 2015
Now that I've picked up the petrus winter and the leffe Royale, there wont be anything new for me at the lcbo until the spring release... :( In a few weeks we should see Stone Smoked Porter, Stone Coffee Milk Stout and the Bastard Box - Arrogant Bastard, Double Bastard, Oak-Aged, Depth Charged (esp...

Ciders, coolers and beer (both craft and otherwise) have always been grouped together in the same category. Crazy if you ask me.admviolin wrote:I also thought that part of the reason the beer shelf space shrunk was because they combined ciders/coolers/beer into one category.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
When the LCBO switches from singles to four-packs, I tend to buy the product in question a lot less frequently (see: Duvel and Fuller's products over the last year or two). Just my two cents. It's not just you. I can tell you for sure that format switch has completely decimated those two brands. Bo...

Re: Summerhill Growler/Craft Beer Destination Store
Which seems odd. I mean simple math would tell me that with more beer buying options Coors Light is going to move off of LCBO store shelves at a slower rate. But to counteract that they are going to start carrying more Coors light? There is an explanation. The LCBO doesn't have to pay for their ord...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
The expiry date is probably Sept 01 2015, if its all the same run. Yeah I grabbed a couple bottles and the BB date is September 3rd. It's drinking fine right now (not as good as the fresh kegs we got in February) but I probably won't buy anymore after this week. Got some today BB Sept 13, 2015, pro...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO
Might not be news, but news to me, Horizon told me 3 new Stone beers coming in November and they should get through faster than this release going forward. lines up roughly with the winter release so maybe the RIS or vanilla porter? **Tentatively** we're looking at Smoked Porter, Coffee Milk Stout,...

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO
Anyone new to beer who missed the Westvleteren 12 LC release a few years ago (not the smallest debacle in history  ) should know the Rochefort 10 is considered just about as great as Westy, in blind tastings some think it's better. Plus it's a quarter of the going price; like Orval, Roche 10 a...

Re: US Beer Releases (premier, consumer, vbm)
All the shops in Buffalo are notorious for selling old code. Not to beat a dead horse but you do really need to be vigilant. I've gotten burned many times. It's best to assume it's not fresh (more likely than not it isn't). I try not to buy anything hoppy there now unless there's a 'bottled on' or '...

Great post R+R. Thanks for taking the time to share those very interesting and informative details. It definitely sheds some light on all the challenges that come with bringing great products into this province - and you didn't even touch on dealing with The Beer Store!

Unfortunately we will no longer be seeing the Rochefort gift pack
(Something to do with prices...)
Some consolation, however - the Rochefort 10 is now a permanent general listing

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS
Horizon confirmed on twitter that the stone beers are only here temporarily. Enjoy it while it lasts. Hey guys. I recently started working for Horizon and thought I'd officially chime in on the Stone stuff. Yes, these three beers are limited release. In fact, the LCBO ordered really small amounts (...
