So the descriptions above have got me intrigued...

I'm wondering, is this beer similar at all to Naughty Neighbour or is there some other comparable currently at the LCBO?

OK, so this is what I WILL be drinking over the weekend at the South Muskoka peewee hockey tour, from the Muskoka Brewery:

4pk Twice as Mad
couple of Mad Toms
couple of undecideds (perhaps the lager and / or weiss) or splurge on a Harvest

Newmarket / Aurora taps?

So, tap selection is pretty lean up in these parts, as one would guess. The best I have found is the Crowsnest pub with one beer of interest on tap, Fuller's ESB. I haven't been to the Grey Goat, they don't have a website, but if any pub up here should have a decent tap or two, you'd think this migh...

I know taste is subjective but calling 8 Ball a world class beer is ridiculous, even by bartowel standards. "World class" might be pushing it a bit depending on your definition, but not "ridiculous" in terms of sweet stouts; 8 Ball currently is hanging in at #25 of the best swee...

OK, so I'm clearly no expert on altbier, so I'll accept that this is fundamentally a textbook alt (though with Creemore's signature written over it in permanent marker :) Perhaps DDC (more aggresive bitterness) and LTM (far richer malt) are not true to style in comparison to Creemore, but just in te...

Well, I broke down holiday Monday and had my second last DFH 90, now two months old, and nothing had changed......oh well, I'll try to hold off on the last one until next summer. Sounds like I need to try the Headstock again soon; haven't had it in a while, but always thought it stood out in its own...

Like I said, if the Creemore flavour doesn't bother you, you'll like this beer.

Well, this is the first time I've had this since last year and my thoughts are still the same..... this is more "Creemore" than it is "altbier"; that is to say, the signature Creemore characteristics stand out more to me than the rich German malt flavour I enjoy in this style. Th...

Hmmmm...sounds like I might have to try this year's batch of Black Creek; I enjoyed last years though it wasn't that pumpkiny imo.

As for the Highballer, which I mentioned as a fav on another thread, I've found this year's batch less satisfyng after noticing a buttery taste in my second bottle.

The GL Pumpkin is very good this year. Grand river was my favourite reg abv pumpkin but this is just as good perhaps better. For sure its not filtered as much as the Grand River which i think adds some extra depth to the flavour.

Haven't tried this years batch, but had a bunch last year with no problems, though as mentioned above it's nothing special. For regular abv pumpkins I stick to Grand River Highballer, for high abv it's Southern tier pumking.

I just prefer the aroma and taste of alcohol not stand out more than (or even as much as) the malt and hops.

Overall, I just don't find this sample of DFH 90 as enjoyably flavourful as Witchshark or 10BY, which is a little disappointing considering its reputation.
