I had the Corporal Punishment at Volo last week and it tasted terrible. I got through about half of it and had to dump it. Ralph said he had just tapped it about 3 days before so it wasn't old. It's at this point that Ralph explained both the IPA and the Corporal taste different now. Very disappoint...

What, no Black Oak!? Ken, what happened? Too close for ya!? Impressive list indeed. I would have the following as I haven't had these on tap before: Muskoka Lakes Hefe Weissbier, Ontario Muskoka Lakes Red Cream Ale, Ontario Belhaven Original Best Cream Ale, Scotland Clancy’s Amber Ale, New Brunswick...

Went to this place last week with my wife. It's only about three doors away from Smokeless Joe's. Beautiful elite decor inside. The waitress seated us upstairs and we sat on a corner couch/bench style setup. The service was fast and the food was incredible. For beer, I had the Rochefort 6, then the ...

Had an awesome time last night! Chatted with many bartowellers, craft brewery reps and other beer geeks. Good to see everyone was in good spirits considering how crowded it was, getting to and from the casks. Clever idea with the "charity" beers for those brews that cannot be sold in Ontar...

beerbistro has a regular beer menu (the one page double-sided list) that has all their tap and bottled beer summarized. The other menu (the book style one) has descriptions of each beer and includes the "Beer Cellar" section that has bottles not listed on the regular menu. Both of them are...

Riding by on the King streetcar a couple of days ago, it looked like the banners that had been hanging around the patio of the Portland were gone. Maybe I was seeing things - we had already passed the place, so it was just out of the corner of my eye - but it looked pretty desolate. Have they close...

I dropped in last Friday after the 3 Inches of Blood concert at Lee's Palace and inquired about their "Over 100 Beers" sign on the front. They provided me with a list of beers available and the list is pretty pathetic.

This place is not worth your time.

Three new brews from Trafalgar at LCBO!?

I went to Davisville LCBO tonight to pick up the Pump House Blueberry Ale as instructed on the main Bartowel page and bought myself a six-pack. Had one of them at the Sheppard Subway station while waiting for my bus... tasty stuff! Anyway, the point of this post is that, while at Davisville, I notic...

Thanks for the compliment Perry! What a first class event last night. Went to the Beach House location first. They have a set of taps inside at the entrance and another at the back patio. This place is beautiful and definitely has Michelle's meticulous touches all over. The beverages (any beer you w...

Just got back from the Bayview Village store. While in the beer section (which is totally redesigned), I saw an LCBO employee wheel out two cases of the DFH 60 Minute towards the front cash. Of course I followed to inquire and discovered the recipient to be Brian Morin's wife, so you will likely see...
