I got a six pack of the same batch from the TBS. Very disappointed that the fist batch hit the shelves three months old. But I thought is was pretty good. Balanced and tropical. I'll have to try it fresh some time.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Ransack the Universe IPA is in a similar LCBO limbo. Cans in Timmins and Ottawa, and that's about it for a couple weeks now.

Re: Collingwood Fireside ESB

I've enjoyed a few cans of this as well and I picked up some fruit in the malt, but mild. Collingwood also deserves kudos for having the clearest date labels I've ever seen under the can. Dec 21 batch is tasting great, but I'd bet it holds up for a while.

Re: Who makes a good porter?

So far this season I've enjoyed both Innocente Charcoal Porter and Collective Arts Stranger Than Fiction Porter. There was an odd dank hop note in a December batch of the Innocente, which I did not enjoy. An earlier bottling was much better without this flavour. I am a big fan of Stranger Than Ficti...

Re: Crossroads (Weston & 401) clearance section

Haha, sorry to do that to you Belgian. Once in a blue moon the beer gods smile on us in northwest TO. I've tasted both Thiriez bottles. Enjoyed the Petite Princesse more. I think the hops are all gone from the Etoile Du Nord, but it's still tasty. I might pick up a few more at these Laker Lager pric...

Re: Crossroads (Weston & 401) clearance section

I saw some new (old) beer on the floor tonight. Thiriez / Jester King la Petite Princesse. 330 ml bottles for $1.75. BB 12/2016. There is about 9 cases. Thiriez Etoile Du Nord. 330 ml bottles for $1.75. BB 12/2016. About 6 cases. Lots of sediment in the bottom of these ones. I think they're doing so...

Re: LCBO price tags

The LCBO at Weston Rd and 401 regularly uses price tags for items in the clearance section, since the barcodes on those items don't scan. From what I can tell it's a generic product # and then the cashier reads the price off the tag an inputs it.

Schneider Weisse Mein Cuvée Barrique

I thought this was an outstanding beer. Quite tart with lots of oak character with cherry, grape and vinous flavours. As a barrel-aged blend of two legends (Unser Aventinus and Aventinus Eisbock) I knew it could be great. I heard it was sour but needed to taste it to believe it. It's quite remarkabl...

listed now, and showing stock: EPIC COFFEE & FIG IMPERIAL OATMEAL STOUT LCBO 429498 | 750 mL bottle Price: $ 13.90 Bought one last week. It was excellent. Only two slight qualms. I wish it was stronger in ABV, and I wish it had a bit of a fuller mouthfeel. Otherwise, the taste was beauty. It wa...

Just picked up from the brewery (Esandar Dr.) and I'd say there's about 150 bottles of Double Tempest remaining on display.

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

new at TBS: Hickson IPA Breuvages Octane Alcohol Content (ABV):6.2% Bottle 500ml $3.70 Picked this one up and it was a pleasant surprise. Not sure how this offering from a tiny Quebec brewery (Les 2 Frères, not "Breuvages Octane") ended up at TBS. Well balanced and very floral IPA. Citra,...
