Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

There is, generally, no centralized posting or announcement of ANYTHING new (i.e. beers, wines, spirits, etc) at the LCBO as a rule. That burden - and cost - typically falls on the agent. The exception being Vintages with its Vintages Circular every 4 weeks which lists ALL products being made availa...

Our approach is similar, of course, yes. It is just irksome obviously to come across people - and it happens often enough - who don't "get it". Well ... c'est la vie.

Grudgingly, yes. And I don't fault the consumer, no -- they really are in the dark in this regard, yes (and I mean that in a good way). BUT ... when it comes to licensees it's a different story. Believe you me it's not easy trying to explain why we have to charge for glasses, why we can't help them ...

I quote from the Toronto Star article linked above. Newspapers never lie do they ... Currently, municipal taxpayers pay about $62 million a year to fund the Blue Box system, and industry kicks in a little more. Since 1998, the LCBO has contributed $16 million in direct funding to the municipal...

Greg ... and others, We are indeed submitting Full Moon and others from Alley Kat to the LCBO -- will keep you posted. Meanwhile, we are getting more consignment program shipments from Alley Kat in soon - including hopefully some of their Olde Deuteronomy Barleywine, but it's in very short supply. L...

This posting is more of a response to the observation about Keith's in the preceding "fall release" topic but -- as that thread has grown to at least 4 pages and is veering off into other things I am taking the liberty to re-hash the Alexander Keith's in the Fall Release observation in a n...

Andicus - that can be arranged. Good idea.

And yes you're right, we all represent suppliers on a mutually exclusive basis.

There is a small $ component in EVERY SINGLE bottle of wine or beer or spirits you buy at the LCBO that is collected on behalf of the environment, and the cost of recycling, etc.

Yes, indeed, Alley Kat is here -- though in scant supply still.

Please e-mail me directly for any information you would like on Alley Kat at paul@greatdrinks.com.

More to come soon though - and we are working on LCBO listings.

Cheers and thanks for your support.

Anyone wanting a current list - and it changes quite frequently - of consignment beers please e-mail me directly at paul@greatdrinks.com I will, however, try to give an up-to-date list to Cass for posting as well. Incidentally - I am working on a site called lcboconsignment.com that will, hopefully,...

Just a quick note from an agent's perspective ... the EBM is a wonderful outlet for our (lesser known - actually lesser MARKETED really - more peculiar, etc. beers) BUT ... trust me ... they wouldn't have a lot of what they have unless we didn't push ... and push ... and follow up ... and follow up ...

If my post was SELF-SERVING I would like to know how you rate some of the other posts around here.

I was, frankly, just curious to know what you thought of the beer, not my posts.

It is, by the way, NOT a "biere de garde" as so many people seem to think for some reason.

Thank you.
