I think we are doing it the right way. Smoking rates have gone from around 50% at one time gradually down to the 17% they are at now. Eventually smoking will be banned outright. We cannot do that now as there would be too much outcry but in the not too distant future smokers will be no more than a f...

I don't have any experience with SAP but I have lots of experience with inventory control. I am responsible for the rolling stock and warehouse stock for a large service company. Everytime I have to add a SKU I must find somewhere on the shelf to put it. Everytime I run low on a SKU I must reorder i...

Re: Wheezing a Sigh of Relief

The ban will affect businesses if fewer people go out to their favorite pint & smoke place. Restaurant owners swore they would lose all their business when smoking was banned inside but instead their numbers grew. It will be interesting to see what happens over the next few years as people get ...

Parallel 49 Snap Crackle Pop Imperial Rice IPA showed up at my local this week. Case was dated Exx14, (can't remember what the xx's were, but they were in the 10-20 range), indicating that they were bottled back in May. Avoiding like the plague. Good call, it was a bitter mess when I had it about a...

Bellhaven Twisted Thistle.

It was available years ago as singles and made a reappearance in the mixed pack from last Christmas' release. The ones last year were not nearly as good as when it was available as singles.

Kaaad Spring Ale, RiverWalker, Age of Raisin and Renaissance Tribute are all in a big basket In the Clearance section. No prices on any of them. Not the usual sort of stuff you find on clearance there as they were all on the regular shelf last week. I suspect the Renaissance brews are holding up Ok ...

I hear you about revisiting something from the past. I lived in Alberta for a long time and frank a lot of Big Rock, mostly Traditional and McNallys. I saw Trad in the LCBO the other day and almost picked it up. I saw the price tag was over $14 and decided the nostalgia factor did not justify that p...

I find myself travelling past South River every once in a while. One time I decided to check out Highlander and stopped in. I was there long before the posted closing time but the place was locked up and I left empty handed ( with a rather annoyed wife who was dragged along for a fruitless beer adve...

It is such an entirely different sensation than any other style of beer that is hard to put them in the same grouping. It is not exactly refreshing or tirst quenching. It leaves my palette completely wiped clean. This would be fantastic as a palate cleanser between courses. Crisp and invigorating an...

Well I took it out of the fridge a half hour ago and it has been staring me down from the table ever since. I too prefer my beers slightly chilled at the most. I am the sort of person that when the pool is chilly I cannot use the stairs but must jump right in to the deep end. Perhaps this is the way...

Advice for a Gueuze newbie?

A few years back I went to a beer dinner at the Beer Bistro. The tasting guide for the evening told me that hops would move aside and sours were going to be the next trend in beers. At the time I wasn't sure I believed him but it would seem he was spot on with his prediction. I tasted a sour that ni...

In response to Cass' original question... no I would not line up for beer. Maybe if there were a couple people in front of me at the cash register but that is about it. After reading these last few posts about lining up at HF, I all of a sudden have zero desire to go get any of their wares. I sure h...
