Re: Beer Coming to Grocery Stores?

WTF. Who picked this random number? The nanny state never ceases to amaze. Are they going to cap the ABV of wine as well?
Oh what the fuck.

Re: Goose Island Migration Week - May 26-29

I just got back from there too! Yeah it was a huge swarm at the bar. I justified the price by helping myself to one of their promotional T-shirts and a free pint glass which they were giving away in the corner. All in all, was kinda nice to try the Bourbon County Stout on tap. Crap, I was looking f...

Best coffee place ever .......... Portland, yes. But we're really spoiled for really amazing coffee in Toronto and I think we kinda take it for grinded. Really because a lot of us are paying a lot to take it for granted - if spending $40 a week, that's $2000 a year, which easily works out to at lea...

Best coffee place ever visited was in Houston. If ever you are going, beermail me and I will look it up. Best coffee cities: Portlandia (45 rated on yelp as 4.5* or better, a great indicator), Seattle, Minnesota/St Paul, SF, LA though I hear Grand Rapids has a world class place Portland, yes. But w...

Hopefully, when they get more space they won't be as motivated to clear out space as quickly and will get a better handle on the demand for their product. I really doubt it's a space issue so much as a cash flow one. If you've sunk money into ingredients, infrastructure, labour, and time...you want...

I passed on BYOD because I found that I just wasn't all that crazy about last year's. I think I'm just "meh" on cognac barrels. I guess I'll try it on tap this week, though, as some folks are saying it's better than last year's. It is a different beer this year, not just a new vintage of ...

Well there aren't any Ontario beers in the summer release...looks like they just went through the LCBO's press release to write the article. Not quite, but yes, it was limited to selections from the summer and BC releases. If you go back through my previous posts, you'll see that I include local re...

According to Drinkvine, there are still 30 sixers of the Porter at Summerhill, 14 at Crossroads, 12 at Leaside, etc., so it is hardly sold out. Unless this is phantom stock? I saw some Porter at the King and Spadina location last Friday, so these are likely just the last few sixers in the province ...

working my way through a growler of Hill Farmstead Susan. They ran out of Susan when I was in line back in October. I still walked away with five growlers (Abner x 3, Everett, and Life Without Principles #3)...but man, I really wanted some Susan. It's ridiculously good -- one of the best IPAs I've ...

My thoughts: - We tried a lot of beers, but still managed to miss out on even more that sounded great - We drank (and spent) a fair bit and still didn't manage to try any ciders or anything from the UK (free tokens for press please and thank you?) - Highlight was the Full City Tempest - The session ...

I've gotta say, considering how big these events have become (they were expecting ~1700 people this afternoon alone), the guys at Volo knock this out of the park. And with what Tomas told me is in the plans for him/them in the next few months, the city's beer options are going to get a lot more awes...
