Re: Beer Coming to Grocery Stores?

Farm Boy's got beer in a fridge now. Looks like a similar selection to what Loblaws had. Way to start a conspiracy theory man! https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/92/97/87/9297875a5a73a13d6c240e208b66a989.jpg There's no conspiracy. There are only so many breweries that are able to operate a s...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Those Trafalgar beers were quite good when I tasted them. God knows what happens when the LCBO warehouse intercedes.

They show a lot of promise. I think bigger equipment will help.

Re: Ontario Announces First Winning Bidders for Sale of Beer in Grocery Stores

The really important thing in all of this is that Loblaws set the standard with 50% craft beer. Everyone now has to do better than that or be considered worse than Loblaws. This is going to be great. That said, I talked to Kamran Butt who manages the Lakeshore and Leslie Loblaws for the CBC last wee...

I don't know if I mentioned it, but the Hornbeer Chili Viking whatever was actually pretty complex. Worth a shot.

Re: Coming Soon to the LCBO

Goose Island flew me down to Chicago to look at what they're doing. Their Barrel aging warehouse is 133,000 Square feet. That's just over three acres. It's ridiculous. I think they're trying to do away with the entire concept of scarcity by throwing money at it. If you can get a Bourbon County Stout...

Re: Random Reviews

Mountain Lager is really really good. I never let it get warm enough to notice much sweetness.

I'll put it to you this way: If I had to choose one Ontario beer to drink for the next year, it'd be Mountain Lager.

Re: Summerhill Growler/Craft Beer Destination Store

The impression I got is that they were loading those shelves for image during the opening. I'm sure they'll sort out what goes in which part of the store, but in the meantime they sorta just needed stuff to be there.

Re: Beer Coming to Grocery Stores?

Some good news, some bad news, always slow news when dealing with a giant bureaucracy. It's always a mixture of effects. If they had rushed it to immediate conclusion people would be complaining because the only people with the volume to handle the additional outlets are established market players....

Re: Summerhill Growler/Craft Beer Destination Store

Taps are in. Growler filling stations are in. Three of them. Look to be the model from Indie Alehouse. Great Lakes confirms will be on tap in a few weeks.

Not only is this going to happen, but it looks like it'll be eight taps. I posted some pics on twitter.
