Re: LCBO 2015 Xmas Release

Looks like a copy and paste of the list from last Xmas, with Petrus #9 and an Aventinus variant thrown in. could be worse I guess. Will be nice to have the bernardus mixed pack back again. Definitely the main bright spot. The lack of St. Ambroise RIS and Vintage Ale is a huge bummer, though. Correc...

Re: Adirondacks, New York

Heading into the adrinodacks this weekend, crossing in Ogdensburg. Is the Potsdam IGA still my best option for beer? http://www.igapotsdam.com/potsdamiga/craftbeer.jsp Update: Bessettes wasn't worth the trip, similar selection to grocery stores. The Potsdam IGA had some goodies, but many were 4-6 mo...

Summary, map, pics, hope people find this to be a good reference next time you're in Chicago.

Re: Beer Coming to Grocery Stores?

I don't really know why anyone cares about beer coming to groceries. They've said that they need to order through LCBO so the selection will be identical. Apparently the hours aren't going to be any different either. The only people that are really going to benefit from this are the people located ...

Re: Random Reviews

Working my way through the Cameron's Brew master Selection pack. RECLINE PALE ALE Decent low abv pale Ale, in the line of collective arts state of mind, detour and red racer ISA. Nice crisp and hop of the start and hollow finish. Very 'crushable'. Better than collective arts offering, but doesn't t...

Re: Canadian Brewing Awards 2015

30 entries is crazy. At $100 a pop, plus the cost of sending your crew out, hotels, and tickets, that's like... $10K on the CBAs? Is it really worth all that, especially considering some breweries (Bellwoods, DDC) don't enter at all? I agree. They should break this up regionally. Have a regional be...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

I'm also enjoying the goose IPA. An enjoyable tasty drink for when you just want to throw a few back and not think too much. Also probably safe enough to offer to your "normal beer" drinking friends Did I miss the boat on this stuff?? I don't even see it listed on the LCBO website anymore...

Re: New Arrivals at LCBO & TBS

Is it me, or is SN PA not worth the bother? I've had it numerous times in the US and never come away impressed. Maybe 5-10 years ago it would have been something, but now with GLB, muskoka and others pushing the IPA limit, it always struck me as a pedestrian beer...?
