Introducing Light Mode! If you would like a Bar Towel social experience that isn't the traditional blue, you can now select Light Mode. Go to the User Control Panel and then Board Preferences, and select "Day Drinking" (Light Mode) from the My Board Style drop-down menu. You can always switch back to "Night Drinking" (Dark Mode). Enjoy!

All right, enough plugging. Don't be sorry, keep plugging away. :D I look forward to trying the tweaked recipes and also like this kind of info - it gives more depth and meaning to your beer (on some kind of weird level). I wish more brewers would include this info on the bottle or packaging. But c...

Quality is ultimately judged by the consumer. You hit the nail on the head. No panel is going to tell you what tastes "good" to you! Sure, it may be true to style, if adhering to style is your thing, but most people can hone in on what they like. Some prefer sweet beers, some like the sou...

The OCB isn't like the VQA... there's no quality assurance. As I see it, they're basically just marketing for the little guy... though they do claim to have a commitment to excellence: "We’re the Ontario Craft Brewers. 30 brewers dedicated to making great tasting beer, right here in Ontario. T...

Based on another thread, it sounds like the OCB is hard at work, lobbying for its members as it relates to the latest federal budget.

I also noticed the MacLean's name in lieu of F&M. What happened to F?

Beau's - New Brewery?

On the OCB website they list a new brewery near Ottawa called Beau's. The OCB site says, "As Eastern Ontario’s newest brewery, Beau’s is focused on producing great beer using all natural ingredients like certified organic malts and spring water. A unique recipe and brewing process ensure that e...

A Can too small

Is it me or just a lack of forward thinking when it comes to the size of some of the new local beer cans (Creemore, Robert Simpson, etc.) available at the LCBO containing 473ml? While this does equate to 1 pint (not a uk pint though) or 16 ounces, we live in Canada. We have a great metric system. Go...

Finally tried this beer on the weekend at Beer Bistro. I didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. It is very subtle, yet very satisfying at the same time. Proves that a beer does not need to be bold to be good. I will definitely have this again, assuming it will be offered regularly....

I realize you're not into the beer importing business (yet), but it would be interesting to know if it is easier to import from another province as opposed to from another country? If so, there must be some quality Quebec or BC breweries ripe for distribution in Ontario :D

Theres a book (The Essential Reference of Domestic Brewers and Their Bottled Brands, 2nd Edition) that Stephen Beaumont recently recommended under the Bright Beer section of his website. It sounds interesting from a beer geek perspective and likely has tons of interesting tidbits....

There's no denying the Ontario market is flooded with average lagers and cream ales. I'm just pointing out a new product. BTW, the reviews were for their premium lager, there were none for the Cream Ale. I figured someone would jump at the chance to be the first to review it on Ratebeer (regardless ...

Your sarcasm overwhelms me...but when was the last time you put a beer on the market? Based on some reviews I've read, it could be a decent beer and style aside, I applaud any small brewer who has the wherewithall to put their money where their mouth is.
