And by the by, I can't agree more with Sam regarding music. It seems almost unavoidable today, just recently in Louisville tasting craft beer I was disturbed by the inane pounding from the sound system. Music seems a part of most of our bars and pubs in Toronto today too. I wouldn't mind it so much...

A bottle of "Lagunitas, Reuben And The Jets" thats been in the back of my fridge since September 2009. Bloody lovely. Reminds me of a good Belgian dubbel. Sweetness, but very smooth. I wish I had another dozen in the fridge.

Get a copy of CAMRA's "Good Beer Guide Germany". I had their "Good Beer Guide Prague and the Czech Republic" when I went there and it was very informative.

Thanks Greg.

I called the Flying Monkeys brewery and spoke to a very friendly young lady. The Smash Atomic IPA is not available in bottles at the brewery. But I can have a sample when I visit.

Cheers

Too early for a Pumpkin beer?

I'm flying to Ontario for for the weekend to visit my brother in Barrie. Is it too early to find a pumpkin beer? A friend wants to taste one.

Is the Flying Monkeys Smash Bomb Atomic IPA available in bottles at the brewery? I want to try that one for myself. :D

Quebec beer one of world's best

I haven't had this one, but I generally love the Unibroue beers. "A Quebec-brewed beer has been named one of the world's top five at the World Beer Awards in England. "Unibroue 17" was brewed only once in late 2007, but it has landed the World's Best Strong Dark Ale title." http:...

The Yellowbelly has a new seasonal

Liam Mckenna has his new summer beer on tap at the Yellowbelly Brewery in St John's (Newfoundland). Its a nettle flavoured pale ale called "Cupers Cove Pale Ale". Very similar to the excellent "Landsman Pale Ale" which was Liam's winter seasonal. :)

Birrificio Brùton is in that area. I had their Bruton "Lilith" at the Mondial this year and really liked it.

I was looking at that. Hopfenstark is going to have a Helles as their special.
They will also have the Berliner Weiss from last year.
I'll be leading the Newfoundland delegation to Mondial. There are two of us so far
