Re: The Lakeport of Germany?

What amazes me is that the cost of drinking truely good Geman beer ( the finest in the world IMHO) is just pennies more for us in Canada because we pay craft premium prices for the degenerate corn buzz the megas have sold here for decades. y. Yes, and just as amazing you can get a stately 500ml bot...

We also regularly do special private orders (we're putting to bed the most recent which is for Rogue products). We are agents for Dogfish Head but, at the moment, they are not selling to Canada. In fact, most U.S. micros don't want to jump through the hoops necessary to do what amounts to insignifi...

Mega brewers= gov't crony insider=politically corrupted market place Microbrewers=bureaucratically oppressed producer=tax slave captive consumer These are formulas that only shifing the political dynamics of the province will solve. If you ever sat on the couch sucking your thumb (or beer as the ca...

In the event that the LCBO do go on strike, they are reminding the government and clearly demonstrating to voters the negative aspects of having a single quango responsible for all alcohol available that is brought into Ontario. I cannot imagine a course of action that the LCBO could take which is ...

Re: LCBO set to strike?

Should we be stocking up? Buy 3 or 4 cases of your favorite brews. Save the receipt. If they don't strike, just refund everything you don't still want. They have to let you if it's fairly recent So you see, your supply is covered either way my friend. And you now have a use for those promotional 1....

We can order Half-E-Weizen ... it will go for $4.95 a bottle or $59.40 per case, whereas, as part of this order it'll cost ya about $72. Not that there's anything wrong with that, mind you... I appreciate Peter that you make so many things available that the LCBO pretends do not exist. Props to Mis...

Splitting orders is a brilliant idea. I'd do that with Roche 8 and 10. ...Rogue has chosen to go in a new direction with the packaging and pricing. I can't blame them for making a living, but I might take a pass on the fancy-bottle thing. It makes sense for them to do this with more intensive/costly...

Since the website won't tell us anymore...

<< Add any store you see with "de-listed" brews. >> - Danforth/Broadview store has lots of Chimay Bleu and Roddy Grand Cru. (Wellington Iron Duke there also BTW.) - Yonge/Summerhill, Spadina/dundas and Yonge/dundas MAY be good for these and various others - been a while so I'm not sure. Th...

The issue is purely technical. Once a seasonal product is sold out of the warehouse, the Product Management people de-list it so that stores and their automated re-order systems don't continue ordering it. That triggers it's removal from the site....or so I've been told. Wnat doesn't make sense is ...

LCBO website is misinforming consumers

Disturbing news; the current website now omits some items that ARE in stores. I tried to search Dogfish Head, and got: "0 result found for "Dogfish Head" We could not find a match for your search criteria.' This is pure bull because DFH Raison D'etre is in some stores and was recentl...

This LCBO doubletalk is all so hypocritical. eg: " Seized products have been found to contain carcinogens, toxins and poisons. " All alcohol IS carcinogenic (colon) and toxic/poisonous (that's the whole point.) so where's the meaningful consistency in that mission statement? I know it refe...

An honest reflection

I used to pine for Budvar when I couldn't get it here. Funny how when the "rare factor" dissappears you stop coveting something as much. Staropramen (from Prague) is also a beer I bought by the case initially, fearing it would dissappear like Radegast did. If Rochefort 8 were sold at LCBO,...

I guess I should just be thankful that they still do the seasonal releases at all and just shut my trap. Well don't be silly.
