Re: Amsterdam Brewery

Just stopped in at the Esandar location at opening and there were exactly 6 bottles left. I bought four, so two remain. I figured that it was fitting that as the second person in line last year I should leave a couple bottles to be the second to last person this year.

Re: Indie Ale House

2014 was all from the same batch... Was a limited release. This year was a blend. This will be a regular release once or maybe twice a year. Definitely minor differences release to release, but for the most part always relatively trying to blend for consistency. Indie will be tapping some of this y...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

Am I crazy or does the Double Polaris have strong brussels sprouts aroma and flavour? While this sounds awful, I quite enjoy this beer.

Re: Burdock Brewing

The new IPA is pretty enjoyable. There is no information about ingredients on the website listing yet. I should have asked, but the cool looking aloof pseudo-albino guy working the cash was a little too intimidating for me. All jokes aside, I like this brewery. Nothing earth shattering, but I've enj...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

The Double Polaris is quite nice. I'm unfamiliar with the hop. I got a bit nervous about the malt forward description, but it reads as less malty to me than Boogie Monster. The Donkey Venom is my favorite of these releases. Closer in sourness level to the first batch than the second. Now, I just ne...

Re: What're you drinking right now?

Last night:

Block 3 Dead Later barrel aged Dubbel. (Not their best effort in my opinion).
Bellwoods Cherry Farmageddon. (Loved it on release and loved it again last night).

Re: LCBO 2015 Xmas Release

Any early thoughts on the Petrus Winter #9, 2015 Cuvee Barique, Red Racer Gingerhead or Leffe Royale? I surprised myself this morning by buying one of each. Most I have purchased at the LCBO in a great deal of time!

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

As MeltedOzark says, different strokes for different folks. That said, I can't say I have ever heard anyone refer to Bellwoods as tasting "a little amateur." I can think of a whole host of Ontario breweries that fall into that category from time to time (5 Paddles, Block 3, Manantler, Nort...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

I don't know. I think Bring out Your Dead, Motley Cru 2015 and Grandma's Boy were all great beers, and I really liked Skeleton Key too though I know others didn't. Worth the price? The price certainly wouldn't distract me from buying any of those again, so I suppose I would say yes. I'm hoping 3 Min...

Re: Bellwoods Brewery

As an 11:00 AM Friday regular, I'd say the line-up at opening and the line as I left at 11:08 were about the same: 20 or so people maximum. I'd bet a bottle that there will be bottles available tomorrow. It did indeed look like they had a mountain of Lambda left. As a side note: I noticed that all o...

I'm going to say late Saturday afternoon. This is the one people have been waiting for of the four releases.

Re: Amsterdam Brewery

It appears my use of Facebook is middling. I see the post now. As a side-note, why can't a brewery the size of Amsterdam have a bottle shop inventory page like Bellwoods or Burdock that is either refreshed in real time, or at least daily? I would likely stop in much more often if I knew I could get ...

Re: Amsterdam Brewery

This. I work very close to esandar and I'd rather not go there and leave empty handed, so I don't go at all. Also Barrel Aged Double Tempest 2015 Update! It will be released at 1:00pm for $14.00 with a 6 bottle maximum at at both retail locations (45 Esandar & 245 Queens Quay) until supplies la...

Agreed. I bet you'll be able to get it while getting next Friday's release.
