Interesting all the votes for Red Racer - when I had it last year over in Vancouver I thought it was thoroughly average. I'll need to pick some up and give it a retry.... Definitely give it another try because it is not consistent. The first batch I had here in Ontario was pretty poor. Someone else...

Nørrebro Little Korkny Ale. It was sitting in my fridge since last winter and I needed the space, so I thought tonight was as good a time as ever. I was actually quote impressed with it. I had low expectations going in but I quite enjoyed it. Mind you, at the price we all paid for it earlier this ye...

New Ottawa Brewery - Broadhead Brewing Company

There is a new brewery opening up here in Ottawa, the Broadhead Brewery. They opened up on October 1st on Auriga Drive. I have not tried it myself but I read on another web site that they will be offering: a standard ale, a hoppy pale ale, a white, a "citra", a red/amber ale and a dark oat...

Finally snagged some here in Ottawa at long last. Probably a victim of the hype - it was good, very good but I guess I was expecting a transcendent moment or something. I think the IPAs we can now get here on a regular basis compare well. Don't want to sound too complainy though, as I'm happy to hav...

I am usually good for at least one pack and appreciate them for the breweries that don't make their way to the deepest, darkest eastern reaches of the province. We don't get any Lake of Bays here in Ottawa so I bought the last one to try them out and we also don't get F&M so I'm likely to pick o...

The St. Peter's is always good and usually has the Red Ale which is not available normally. The glass is nice too.

Yes, it was too bad they ran out of the Wild Oat series beers pretty early. I never got around to trying Mr. Hyde and I only had a tiny sip of the Pumpkin Weiss that my wife had. I did get the Two Weeks Notice; they still had some at the Cask Days table long after they ran out at the other stations....

Had my very first bottle of Smashbomb yesterday. It hasn't been easy to find in Ottawa overall. It lived up to expectations!

Maine Beer Company Peeper Ale. Was recently in Maine and the Maine Beer Company was the big revelation for me. I had Allagash, Geary's, Shipyard....all were fine but none were something I'd go out of my way for, but I was very impressed with what I've had from this brewery, specifically the Zoe and ...

Any suggestions on reasonably nice/romantic accomodations in this general area? Wife and I are looking for ideas for a quick one-night escape in a few weeks. Don't really want to go as far as either Syracuse or Lake Placid. Looking for something with a couple hours of Ottawa, at most. If you're wil...

Prima Pils is the first one that came to mind...I sure miss that one at the LCBO.

Creemore Kellerbier and Beau's Lugtread are two other summer regulars for me.

Great Lakes is two great breweries in one...both the Canadian one and the US one. I got the latest OCB mixed pack and the Crazy Canuck was definitely one of the highlights. I will be buying it on its own for sure.
